The reasoning behind not having any other rounds at Hambrick is because its kind of a mess with the middle holes being pulled. It takes a lot of time to walk back up the hill to the course and just overall doesn't flow well which I think would make the singles and doubles rounds go very, very slowly.
Another thing about having the rounds there is that it is definitely more crowded than either of the other two courses. That's one of the reasons I wanted to hold any event we have there first thing in the morning. If we get there early we should be able to avoid most of the crowds, but having a tourney style event there would definitely have us playing during the more crowded times.
Last but not least, with the best holes at Hambrick being pulled, the other two courses at this point are better than Hambrick. (Honestly IMO Holton is always better than Hambrick) With the holes being pulled at Hambrick, there are only 3 wooded holes on the entire course. C, D, and E and all three are right around the 200' mark, everything else is pretty much wide open and lack a whole lot of challenge.
Of course peeps can play whatever course they want, whenever they want, so as long as they are having a great time. That is afterall what its about, just having fun, chucking some plastic. I'm sure that anyone that gets eliminated from survivor golf will toss another round, hell I'll probably be on of the first to be out as well and I'll join you.
As for the distance comp, it might not happen. It was MikeC's idea, and so far he was the only one to show interest and he's no longer coming to the meet. We may have another event in its place or, more than likely, we'll just leave it open for people to play where ever they want.
