[Axiom] Axiom Envy

Wow, that was an oversight on my part. Same question for the ion/anode? I know that counts as thread drift, but it may soon be relevant, as MikeC hinted at.

I'm sure that this has been answered before, but I'm wondering what the "soft" plastic feels like in hand. As someone who only has the neutron plastic, and haven't tried the MVP/Axiom putters, how soft is soft? And possibly a comparison to a different plastic? I'm looking to get an envy, but I don't really have the opportunity to pick up the different plastics in hand, unfortunately.
I fondled one MVP Soft disc once for a bit and it felt pretty nice, not floppy at all but flexible and pretty nice grip.

^^ Vector for sure. It's a good bit longer than the Envy, and feels much like the Axis. The Axis/Vector were made to be a good pair. A fresh, heavy Vector should handle the wind nicely.

The Tensor is also a great overstable mid, but it's not quite as long as the Axis/Vector. I actually bag it instead of the Vector, and it's a must for throws that I need to fade.
Axis feels great in my hand, so a similar feeling disc with more stability sounds like a perfect fit. Tensor would be nice too, but as a disc minimalist I think Resistor or OS Fairway driver will do those things.

^^Depending on the courses you play, you can definitely just use a Resistor, or even a Shock for overstable duties. There's nothing wrong with powering up/down a fairway to do a mid's job.

If there's not a hurricane wind I don't like the Resistor so much because to fly nice it wants to be thrown properly nose down with decent power, otherwise it hooks too hard left for me. Maybe if I was a better player it would be more workable but at the moment I have it just for very windy days. Nicely OS mid should be easier to throw so that's why I'm looking at something like Vector. Do Vector come out consistently with just slight dome nowadays?

Would you say that it's flexible in terms of say G*? Hopefully not like R-Pro, which I am not a fan of.
I don't really remember the feel so well but maybe something like G*.

Proton Vector is such a great disc. For me, I see a really good amount of glide on it (for how over stable it is) when thrown flat, and I can put a bit of anhyzer on it and get a really good distance flex shot out of it.

Also depends on forhand or backahnd. If the wind kicks up you almost have to go Overstable driver for forhands unless you are a huge hyzerflip flick specialist. In this same situation backahnd I see many players still succeeded with putters, and mids, and while slow drivers can work, the height and ranging are specific. Though to me, my servo feels better to me than anything in my hand so today in my first open tourney I threw it on some 250 foot wooded headwind hyzers that know one else threw driver on and many even threw putter. Out of 4 tries I was parked one, and was deep on the other three and made 1/3 putts from 30-40 on the others.

I'd say it really depends on a combination of how you throw and the wind and obviously disc selection.

Not sure if its been mentioned before, but i got to fondle an envy for the first time this weekend and it seemed really similar in profile to a Pa1, anyone agree?

I believe the similarity has been mentioned. PA1 is a bit more domey, yes? Or is that the Mercy? Both of those have been mentioned before.

Black Envy

im looking for a black neutron envy. rim color doesn't matter. anyone know where I can find one. id like it to be unthrown.

To me I putt with pa1s and throw envys and they are about the same profile and feel. The only difference is the underside lip on the pa1 seems a bit concaved.

They even throw similar to me.

It's not rPro soft. 'Medium' proton is pretty stiff plastic. Soft Proton isn't floppy at all, or less so than rPro.

I haven't handled a soft N disc, they've only been out in limited runs, or for mike c, but they're coming soon we hear.

Soft N feels a little bit more gummy to me. I like it a lot more than the soft protons.

My experience has been that Soft P is more weather sensitive - softer in warm, stiffer in cold. It's going to be that way for all plastic to an extent, but I feel like Soft N retains it's characteristics better at extremes.

That being said, since there's no current Production runs of soft N, I actually use soft P Ions for putting in case I ever need/want to break in a new one.

Hoping that soft N production runs are on the MVP roadmap for the future though!

Today was an envious day. I had not given the envy the miles yet to truly appreciate the capabilities of its ability. I played a windy course with decent elevation today, with most holes averaging about 220. Give or take...

The envy handled every single shot in the wind I needed to. I fell I love with this disc today. It is an amazing driving putter for me and has a great mid range potential as a slower vector.

Awesome disc! Just wanted to give some love to this after I realized I really loved it....

this seems true

the soft N doesn't stick in my hand as much either

I don't know if it's the fanboy in me or this is a disc that was made for me. I've never thrown a disc with full power and know it's going straight. With the hss I still expect a hefty fade and it's not overly fadey. Today was gusty and man this envy just worked. I have 3 in the bag and want to squeeze one more in. 165 p 175 p, 169 n 175 n. Neutron for putts p for drives and approaches. Still adjusting from the switch from anodes for putting, but it's coming along well.
