Best courses near major cities?

If you consider Des Moines to be a major city (which you might if you work in some select industries that require business trips here) then the two best are argueably Pickard in Indianola and Ewing in Des Moines. If you like being punished for bad (or sometimes just slightly off) shots, then substitute Walnut Ridge for Ewing.
