Anyone spot flat and stiff premium caltrops out there? I noticed some base plastic caltrops on local shelves that were flat, as opposed to the domier optos I have seen around.

Looks like the Thumtrac patent ran out, que the shameless Pig/Rhyno ripoffs.

If the Patent did run out that was a while ago, with the Ringer having the GT (thumbtack) model.

Is anybody using this disc? I recently went and played some Reno area courses and needed a premium overstable approach disc so my Ricky Pig didn't take all the abuse from the Martian landscape. I picked up an Opto Caltrop 174g.

First impressions.
- Nice grippy plastic
- Beadless has good release
- Not as stable as a Pig
- Can get flippy on a full forehand rip
- Seems to like about 200 feet of power

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the Caltrop. I just wish it was a tad more overstable to handle forehand flex lines better.
For those that have thrown this disc what is your opinion?

I usually throw Zones, Pigs, Suspects, Gators and sometimes Rhynos.
