Clothing, Shoes, & Personal Hygiene

Without reading the other posts, look into your diet. When I eat certain things and sweat, I too smell like a goat in a short time. Also certain colognes and anti-antiperspirants do the same. (A few years ago, what used to be my everyday cologne now makes me smell horrible.)

Diet

I am going for some green tea today, also I am going to buy some fruit and veggies if nothing else, to counter my diet. [I can not promise to stop eating fast food, no excuses, just don't want to be more of a hypocrite than I already am.] One will surely be Parsley, going to try a cup of that a day. Also, I have a multivitamin, I will check the date on it, if good, I will start taking it, if not, I will get some more.

Body Wash/Deodorant

As I said, I have already purchased some "Right Guard Total Defense 5, both the body wash and the the stick deodorant", so I am going to try it out, but I love Axe and I have never used Mitchum deodorant, and other types mentioned. If this does not work, I will keep trying the different suggestions.

Shoes

I am definitely going to get some "Desenex foot powder". My old disc shoes may be going into the garbage. I dunno about the vinegar. Last thing I want is the old fish and chips smell mixed in to what I already got, lol.

Clothes

I am a huge socks person, but since I am dealing with a problem here, I figure I will get some cheap sandals, and after disc golf rounds, I will take off the socks and wear sandals home. Also, I am going to get one of the dry fit shirts, if it works, it will become a staple of my wardrobe. The dryer sheet sounds like I could mess up and the thought of a sheet taped to my shirt doesn't sound too comfortable, BUT the bug spray idea will be put in, I will find a small can and put it in my bag.

Conclusion

I appreciate all the help, and will post what works, what doesn't, etc. Also, thank you kyflash, but to me the real courage would be smelling like a non showering animal in public. Anyways, I see women's hygiene products shown over tv all the time, so I could at least make a post, lol.

Regarding diet, I've heard that eating a lot of meat (esp red meat) can contribute to giving off a stronger odor. Sushi and other seafood is a good substitute, so stick with that. Also, try to mix in some vegetarian meals too, along with eating more vegetables and legumes in general. Have u tried any Indian dishes? There's lots of good Indian vegetarian dishes and if u eat enough, u'll start to smell like curry!

Dairy products make you stink. I was in china, and I entered a building that you had to take your shoes off to enter. There were thousands of shoes laying around and I couldn't smell feet. I couldn't believe it. This was mind boggling because the mcdonalds indoor playgrounds smell terribly with few childrens shoes. I did research and found that asians don't drink milk, and that dairy products produce horrid B.O. I sweat incredibly and subsequently stink! I stopped drinking milk and consuming so much dairy and found that this actually works.

Indian food is largely vegetarian, and is VERY good. Although, I dunno how the curry would impact BO. I can't imagine it would be positive. But what do I know, I'm not a doctor.

I would say a lot of it is your eating habits. You eat a lot of fat and sugar. Bacteria love all the glucose in your sweat and start reproducing very rapidly. You will probably have to make a major change in the way you eat to see a major change in the way you smell.

It funny that you guys say fast food and meat and what not make you "smell" or have a stronger BO. I used to date a vegan and still know a guy that is vegan, only fresh fruit, veggies, and beans and they have the strongest BO that I have ever came across.

While I do agree that diet may have something to do with it, by switching your diet you may only be switching from one smell to another.

I look at it like this, if a person is out in the heat and the dust and the dirt, sweating up a storm, they are going to stink. Seriously, it's not an uncommon thing. It was just too strong too fast on me, but today was different, even though I didn't play, I was out in the heat and sweating.

1 - The first body wash I was using was a cheap generic, and then the bar soap was a generic, though it really 'should' have made a difference.

2 - The first deodorant was a spray generic, then a solid generic. THIS was probably a big cause because it wasn't made for activity. I am sure had I sat in A/C all day, i would never have had a b.o. problem.

3 - I was not wearing a cologne but 1 time, and again, a generic type that was given to me at Christmas that you never wear.... you know what I am talking about.

So moving to a real body wash, with a scrubbing body wash ball, and a real deodorant made a world of difference. Add my cologne, and it was a complete change, after sweating out in the sun today, I actually still smell quite nice.

THAT SAID, the diet is important, forget the b.o., if just to increase my health and quality of life. I haven't got to get the shirt or the desenex yet, but baby powder and fresh air have helped the shoes, and I am currently letting my dogs air out, so it's all getting better, thanks to the good advice I got here.

...I ate some parsley, and I am not going to handle a lot of that every day, so I hope the fruits and other veggies help.

Smelling better already!

Also, I remember being told, do not know the truth to it, that cologne is best used in places where the body heats up the most, and mixes with your own smell, which is why the same cologne can smell different on different people. So I bought cologne, Mambo Cologne for Men by Liz Claiborne, and hope that also helps.
Yes, cologne will smell different on different people.

But cologne is NOT meant to cover up any body stank. Its purpose is to make a clean person smell good.

Are you a hairy person Stud Muffin? The reason I ask is because excess body hair can also absorb and trap body funk.I'm not real hairy but I sweat like a hog, and have found it very helpful to trim up my pits and other moist areas of my body.Give this a try as well, it definitely can't hurt.

a few suggestions.

Just a couple of suggestions.

1. Get an antipersperant deodarant. (What you are getting maybe idk). It keeps your armpits much dryer.

2.Carry a small can of body spray in your bag. If you smell the funk coming on give your self a spray.

3. As far as your shoes go make sure they are always in a place where they can get air. You can also leave dryer sheets in them overnight to help the smell.

I have the same problem as you. Though, I'm 14 and going through puberty. It is really embarrassing, but what I do is use right guard deodorant, which works pretty good. Also, the guys I played with in a tourney says if you don't use deodorant for a month or so you never have to use it again. I'm not going to try this, but it might work.

Yes and No.

My name is Harry. But I do not have a lot of body hair, so, yes I am harry, but no I am not Hairy.

lol

Use DIAL bar soap and lather for more than 30 seconds, do not view porn because it will release stinkamones that cause these odors. I was serious about the Dial bar soap. I never use deoderant because I use Dial bar soap. Perfumes just create bad smell combinations, Dial bar soap washes away the bacteria that make you a stinky person.

Do that in high school, and you can forget about ever getting a date.

Diet plays a huge role for the BO. keep it healthy. Just because it's fast food doesn't mean you need to get the greasiest thing on the menu. If you want healthy fast food. Go to Wendy's, get a Ultimate Grilled Chicken Sammich and a large Chili. 54g of protein and only 13g of fat. Boo yah. cost about $6 (dont get a meal). Dont drink soda, drink water.

As far as feet go, what has been said before. Gotta let your feet breathe. I always wear flip-flops to the course and when i get done just to let them breathe ASAP. Works wonders.

As far as Hydration, i dont drink water on the course- well i do, but i mix in something called Rehydrate- it's a powder you mix with it that beat out regular Water and Gatorade in a hydration test which tested how fast the body can perform up to 100% after a rigorous workout. greatest stuff ever! You can get it here. I love it and it works tremendously well. It's not sold in stores, you can get it at this site. I usually get the pouches for disc golfing.

A full body wax should do the trick.

I don't know, I'm the harriest guy you'll meet, I eat a tonn of junk food, drink mostly beer and mountain dew, play dg in hot weather every day, haven't showered since Seattle (over 2 weeks), I smell just fine... Its amental thing, if you think you smell good, you will.
