DGCR Aces 2018

Hole of the day Sheboygan Quarry #9

So as a beginner I finally think things are starting to look up, I changed up my grip and my backhand form slightly and got my first Ace today as well as my best round of the season at par (playing everything as 3) things are starting to look up as hopefully so will the weather!

Hole #8 sorry fat fingered

Aced yesterday at Morse Lake #11 with a Pine, not sure of the distance, placard was missing.

under 200' but sweet nonetheless

Ace pace is not slowing down from last year's 9.

3rd on the year. Finally got one at Lakeview in Middleton, a little pitch and putt I played all winter long. Tons of metal, but nothing stuck.

Hit hole 5 today. 220 or so, slight uphill, trees early force a big hyzer. 3rd ace with my Brock Samson Respecti.

Only witnesses were 2 kids on the bike path. They didn't seem impressed.

I've been trying to get -9 there all year and can't do it. Hit -8 4 times. After this ace I was -6 after 5. Then finished par, par, par, par. :(

We saw somebody ace hole 5 at Hambrick yesterday. It was incredible, this guy's lie was right near us on hole 4 and I said to my brother how it would be awesome to ace this hole. Hole 5 is an elevated basket on a pyramid, about 6 feet tall and 270ish from the tee.

We were teeing the next hole and the dude behind us threw it right in the basket. HOWEVER, it was his second or third shot from the tee (still an amazing shot) and only my brother saw it as I was turned around and heard the chains.

I just wanted to share, because I'll probably never see that again! It was one for the books.

Hit my first a while ago this year. 230' downhill with extreme OB island. Do or die if you don't lay up. Last round I hit metal 3 times and the 4th time in my last 2 rounds.

My third ace at Knobley Mt. DGC, I believe, and my first on hole #2. Red Tees, original 9 hole layout, 185', uphill, narrow lane, low ceiling. I've come close, but never hit it until today. And it lead to a bogey free round. I got the ace on #2, a par on #3, and birdied everything else. Bettered the course record by 3. Crazy, great round off the tee! My longest putt was less than 15'.

Basket it hard to see, but if you follow the stair rail in the left center of the pic to the bottom, it basically points right at the basket

Had to ask the wife afterwards if it was OK to ask a couple of young ladies in the park today to write their names down for me (it was). I'm in an ace footage contest for the year, and they have to be witnessed. So I was glad to have them arrive at the bench as I tossed my first throw today at Woodland Mound hole one for an ace. :)

Two aces in three days! The first at Tuthill in Sioux Falls, SD with a Firebird and the second at Larson Park in Brookings, SD with a Wizard.

I played the UW Whitewater course with 5 of my friends yesterday(5/26/18). It was part of a my friends bachelor party camping weekend. Got an ace on hole #9 220ft. Finishes up hill behind some trees inline with the basket. 4 holes later, I was the last to tee off again. Hole #13 is up hill 187ft blind shot. Hit the line and heard the chains. Got to the top of the hill and it was in the basket! 2 aces in one round! So fortunate to share the moment with my 5 closest friends.
Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? Although I'm sure it happens, I'm assuming it's pretty rare.

Congratulations!
Yep, pretty rare, but not unheard of. Have a friend who has hit back to back aces (!), twice(!!)
...not 4 in one round, though. Never heard of anything like that.
One time, I hit twice on a teeny tiny, (laughable) nine hole course that had holes ranging from 50' to 187'. Ever since then, if I hit early in a round (I've hit a first hole ace a few times), I start looking for that second in a round. No luck yet, but someday!

Thanks for triggering me (or at least my disc). Went to try out a new course, solo. Figured no need for a witness, just checking things out. Of course I threw a totally blind shot (Hole 8, Miami U Hamilton, 185') that swept to the right around the tall scruff and trees. Figured that was about where I'd walked up to spot the basket. When I got there, couldn't find the disc on the ground where I thought it was. It was lying in the cage. Sweet. A completely unwitnessed ace! :p

Got off the mark in 2018 this past Saturday. I was setting up a glow round with some friends and hit hole #4 at Cumberland Green in Fountain, CO. The hole is roughly 270'...It's a pretty open FH line on which I have drawn metal many times, but a small drainage ditch and several trees/bushes make a very tight gap for a BH line. Shoulder was too sore this weekend to throw FH, but I pured a DX Teebird through the RHBH gap for the ace.

third ace in 3 years (been playing about 4) 189' wide open shot with a 175 DX Cro. my tradition is buying the same disc as a reward, and sure enough I bought a 167 Cro on the way home. just recently heard they've been retired, so I felt doubly lucky!
