First Round of 2012

1st of 2012

1-1-2012 75 degrees/sunny/no wind

Round 1 was a 10 under par (course record) Charlotte Regional Park short tees

Round 2 was a 7 under par (another course record) Charlotte Regional Park long tees

I would say my first rounds of 2012 were a huge success!!! Good luck to all in this new year. Unless your playing me! ha

So it sounds like I was probably the first player on the course in 2012, at 12:05 A.M. on 1-1-12.. Of course, I just had to walk about 40' outside my front door. And I didn't play a complete round, so I disqualify myself from qualifying for the "official" first round of 2012.

Thus far, then, it's looking like Swatso was the first of us on the course for a full round in 2012, starting at 7:45 A.M. What a surprise that he'd be up and on the course early! :D

Way to go, buddy!

Random draw doubles at a brand new and very intense course, The Eternal Flame at Chestnut Ridge. My 1st time at the course. Long, technical, beautiful. The conditions were abysmal; cold rain and wind, and utterly perfect. The conditions made the course quite intense, slippery & muddy. But in the end I took 1st place in the Am Division. Helps to have a good partner. What a great way to start the new year.

i played the 17 holes at the university of richmond yesterday (one hole is gone due to construction)- shot like ass.

first time i had seen the course, course was a bit of a disappointment but hey, it was 60 degrees and sunny on new years day...

only about 19 more rounds to hit my total for 2011.

Played my first 2 rounds of 2012 today. Played cedar hills and Buckhorn in the Raleigh area. Cedar hills was tight tech course. Buckhorn at Harris Lake lived up to all the hype, wow what a great place to play!!! Great holes, great layout, just an awesome course. If you haven't played it, put it on your list!!!

After a night of hard partying at my buddys private course, including our own downsized burning man, we woke up to 70+ degree temps and sunshine. Played a mostly hungover round of doubles, and managed to shoot a 4-. It was a great way to ring in the new year.

I played alright. Dude I was playing with was throwing past the parking lot, and after he let go an Infiniti turned left out of the parking lot. He smacked the ****t out of the front of the car. A girl and her BF jumped out and were screaming "Who threw it, who threw it?". My buddy said it was him, and the guy tried to blame some previous damage on his disc but we eventually convinced him no damage was done and he left. The local league guys were sitting in the parking lot and they thought it was hilarious.

I got in my first two rounds of the new year today at Anthony disc golf course. Shot an even first round then a +3 second round. Nothing special temps were in the low 40s. At least I got in a couple of rounds before its back to work tomorrow.

played my first 3 rounds today with temps of 20 degrees, slight snow and winds of 20+mph.

Almost hit an Ace on the 1st round, hole 3 @ willow stream in buffalo grove. hyzer, off the fly hit chains and spit out a foot from the basket :(

Great to be out in Jan and look forward to an amazing 2012!

Yea it's a top notch course definatly the best in the area. 18 holes all concrete teepads and baskets. Super fun design with some big holes that should probably be par 4's, but the owner has such a long arm that he thinks everythings a 3. I could tell you where it is... but I would have to kill you.:p

Played a round at Burchfield in MI today to break up our drive from Toronto back to Chicago.

Went to the home course, played the front 9 solo, caught a group of guys I play with regularly and played the back 9 with them. I shot +2. Best round in more than two weeks.

1st round of the year at my home course with a 65.
2 over: 2 birdies, 2 bogeys and a double (ouch).
All in all, not a bad round for me.

I need to continue to work on my thumber, disc selection, and hitting my lines every time.
Happy New Year!!
