Hanging Basket: 2 Meter Ruling

the 2-meters should be measured above the highest point in the basket that a disc can hole out.

Imagine landing on top of the basket and then having to mark your lie directly below the basket, so it is impossible to take a stance and putt directly up into the basket. so you have to do an out and then putt.

Now imagine having to additionally take a penalty stroke for having landed on the basket.

Next, imagine a non-hanging basket where you've landed 10 feet above the ground directly over the basket. If the top of the chains is the playing surface, it's not two meters, and you can mark your lie below the basket and putt out. is that intended to be the case ofr every hole? Does 2 meters effectively become 3 meters directly above the basket?

Now imagine the arguments over whether the disc is in the tree directly above the basket. How do you ask the TD for a ruling on that after the round? Lie on the ground and take a photo?

Done it. Sunk it. Not that tough regardless of player height/reach.

Poor course rule.

Using 2m rule when target is hanging higher above ground than normal should be avoided.

I'm so happy we don't play by the "put your foot in the tree" rule. It made waaaay to much sense and worked just a bit too well.

there actually are courses with a basket hanging from a bridge...you could land on top of the bridge
