How do you not hurt yourself playing?

Second the emphasis on follow through. Be sure to do the turning the key (roll of the wrist) after the disc leaves your hand to avoid stress on your elbow. Also try not to throw at more than 80% most of the time (disc up).

If I am playing a long day of golf I will start with some short drives with my putter, not for distance just to warm the arm up and a few warm up putts.

I treat Disc Golf like a workout. I'll do one day on and one day off.

Keeps the body recharged and you should be less prone to Injury. Also be sure to warm up and then stretch after you are done. Helps wonders when you start to get older.

Bad technique and followthrough certainly doesn't help especially when you are playing almost every day shortly after not playing ever. Even many of the top pros will tell you that they need to rest/rehab after a season.

Late on the thread...but usually I have found that if you don't have good follow thru on your throws is when you can injure yourself. stretching is good too, especially for your legs and back, but folllow thru is, in my opinion the number one thing you need to prevent injury to your wrist and elbow.

I'm sure I am the only one that likes this but I completely agree. I rarely throw above 85% anymore unless absolutely necessary.

Warmup better.

Buy one of these for warming up your elbows: http://www.amazon.com/Thera-Band-Flexbar-Hand-Exerciser-Tennis/dp/B00CJOVS7E

Consider also having one of these in the car to warm up your shoulders:

And when you're done. Ice your elbow/knee/shoulder whatever is hurting. Icing after your round will show quicker results than just popping a bunch of ibuprofen (which you should probably do as well if you don't have stomach issues).

I've been thinking about getting a resistant band to put through a disc and attach to my car for warming up before a round. Would that resistant band you posted be able to do this? Basically want to take one hand off and put that end through a disc and reattach the grommet so its on there solid. Gonna have to sacrifice a disc but it will be worth it since I wont have to chase down discs after warming up.

Haha, for a second, I was picturing you having one end of the band attached to you, the other end to the disc, then throwing it and having it sling back and smack you in the face. I was like "this is a horrible idea!"
