From my side it wasn't that crazy. We were forced into an "upgrade" of vBulletin that completely changed the way the forums worked. It became unwieldy for users and even more so for me as an admin. Add to that the birth of Facebook and people flocked there like that is where all of the food is stored. Lack of users on a clunky system sapped my motivation and that was that. It was a fun time, though. Mostly.
