You would think so but only the top card knew about it and they were all ok with it. I wasnt cool with it but I didnt make a fuss. If he would have beaten me then I would have said something.
Nobody said anything because the player was a nice guy I guess. And he was a nice guy. still its not fair to the people he beat.
What kind of grapevine you guys running there? I'd have thought half the players would have heard this story by the time the awards ceremony started.
It doesn't say much for the player, either. I've seen plenty of par+4s handed out without pleas for mercy. Heck, a few years ago someone was late for the final round of Pro Worlds, and took his par+4s with plenty of money on the line.
Among the other questions that come to mind is, Did everyone have to wait while he played an additional 6 holes, before the awards could begin?
