Movement in top 10

I am curious (genuinely curious, not trying to start anything)--there seem to be quite a few courses in fairly populated areas (like Lions, not far from DC, Richmond or Tidewater) that struggle to get to the # of reviews needed, but Caliber, which is as far from population centers (besides Spokane) as one can get (and in a generally very low population area of the country) got a high # of reviews very fast.

Even with ALL the publicity Eagles Landing has received, even it only has 6 reviews at present. And only about an hour from St Louis...

What's the secret sauce with Caliber?

My guess is that the ownership asks folks to review it. Not many people in VA actually review courses.

Having played there, I did not get asked for a review. I did, however, have a wonderful conversation with the entire family that owns the property. About as lovely a people you'll ever meet and I believe their constant hard work and likability bring out the desire to review the course in people. To be fair, I was with a guide that had recently given a glowing review and the owners did thank him for it and commented on specific callouts from the review. That being said, it is entirely possible that it comes up with other people, but I have no doubt that if it does -- it is not in a high pressure kind of sense.

I just got the last birth certificate I need for my kids (for some reason three hospitals never got the paperwork done, at the time I didn't think anything of it), so we can all get our passports now, so we will trying to get there in 2023 as well, after doing the NE trip we had to cancel this year because my son had got the flu real bad. Looking forward to adding 4 new states (well provinces) to my played list...

solid review on nwb

i hope you were able to balance it out with megiddo

I had a similar experience. Great people who served as wonderful hosts and talked old-school disc golf and travel stories with me and my daughter. They didn't specifically ask about reviewing, but I enjoyed the course and the overall experience so much that I wanted to spread the word - there was no doubt when I left that I would write a review.

the goat being decently stimulated on a new era top 10 course (nwb)

he left a few out there but pretty damm good job overall

macbeth played it a little differently than when i was out there

i got my ass whooped but i wanna go back

macbeth makes it look like just throwin frisbees in the park

really a great highlight reel to watch and not super time consuming like some dg videos

The distance put a smackdown on me, but I played really well. Stayed in the middle and was putting. The course, while difficult and long is really fair, IMO. Fairways are generous.

I was pushed over the edge when you said Pa Davis was better than Whitetail. I can understand you pumping up your home courses in Pineville, but Pa F Bomb Davis? I thought you were a better person than that. LoL.

So Mike, you actually brought all this up in your review of Buhlow. You mentioned a poster  Are you ok? I mean, that's pretty bizarre. Especially after being so wrong about reviewer's disc golf ability.

Maple Hill before Idlewild? Wow!

So Mike, you actually brought all this up in your review of Buhlow. You mentioned a poster  Are you ok? I mean, that's pretty bizarre. Especially after being so wrong about reviewer's disc golf ability.

No idea the context of this necro-bump'ed quote, but I will repeat here from that review of Buhlow:

"There's a guy on this website named who is always talking about how Ft. Buhlow has the best courses in the state and how Lake Claiborne isn't as good. If you hear anyone say Buhlow is better than Claiborne, then you'll know they're either trolling you or they're clueless about disc golf. Lake Claiborne blows the doors off of Ft. Buhlow, it's not even close. I would gladly drive the extra 2 hours from the coast to get to Claiborne and I wouldn't even stop at Buhlow because Claiborne is that much better."

I'm not sure where I was commenting on someone's ability but let me say, anyone who thinks Pa Davis or Buhlow is even close to Lake Claiborne is probably too dumb to play disc golf well.

And yes, I'm ok. Are you?

This is hilarious  It hurts your feelings so bad that someone could actually have an opinion that you lash out at them. Too dumb to play disc golf, yet tied you in at least one tournament round.

You really should stop reviewing courses, as you just aren't any good at it and lack the skills necessary to recognize good disc golf.
