It looked dead to me.

I was walking toward my shot when I noticed something white and shiny catch my eye off to my left. I changed my direction to pick up the disc when I noticed something next to it.

That's when I decided on the off chance that it was still alive, picking up a random disc probably wasn't worth getting mauled before going back to work.

That disc will be the reward of a braver soul than me.
