I am selling 5 of my handmade ice fishing traps and using that money to buy this basket (165$ for 5 traps). Don't wanna spend a ton of my "own" money. Its a REALLY nice basket but to nice for me at 290$. I am looking in the 175-225$ range.

looks like the best in my range is the DISCatcher Basket.

I built this one for about $80 (the chain is the most expensive part) and I think it feels a lot like the a real basket. It was pretty easy to build.

This version in the pic has netting around it but the new version is just chains. I absolutely love it. It is light and easy to move around and its a great size.

The same basket is 109.99 at Discovering The World. Just saying :S

I have an instep basket and its absolutely perfect. I think amazon has them for less than $100. It's portable, light weight, and adjustable. Very simple to modify.

I have one and like it very much. Bear in mind that it isn't very portable though. Particularly if you add inner chains as I did.
