Prettiest Course

Riverbend in Bandera, TX really appeals to me. Its rustic and natural. I expect a 1871 Comanche to pop out from behind a bush at any time. Hole #5 sloping down to the Medina River is just my favorite hole. When you get through the narrow opening, you've got the clear green Medina with fish in open view behind the chains to dazzle you. I keep it on my desktop. Photos on DGCR.

Maple Hill
Almost every hole - a new adventure

There is a reason this course is #1 I guess. The pictures are unbelievable which means in person it must be even better.

Without a doubt. Out of over 50 courses played, Idlewild was the pretiest of them all.

Kerieakes in Bowling Green, or Idlewild.. then again, the Lake Cumberland State Resort course is really nice - on an old ball golf course overlooking the lake.

I have to agree that Idlewild is the most beautiful course I've ever played.

However, Englewood DGC outside Dayton, Ohio is gorgeous Englewood DGC

i've only played around 20 courses, and so far, idlewild is the most visually appealing course that i have played. freeman lake and kerieakes are nice also.

x5...only played 10 so far, but idlewild is definitely the the nicest looking course...not beat down, lots of natural beauty, and the course uses the natural terrain terrifically...

The most beautiful course i've played is Humboldt State University (the redwood curtain) its a tough course to navigate and the pics don't do it justice at all. I've only played about 15 courses...

It's about 20 minutes south, southwest of Raleigh. Very nice, however, I've only seen it in the winter time, looking forward to seeing it again when everything is in bloom.

i have it on my favorites, since we have a plant very close to there...on my next visit there i hope to play it...

coolest view at buckhorn is from the tee of hole 6(?)- looking down the hill past the basket across the lake at the cooling towers of the nuke plant. tour de force woods course.

Check out this picture of Buckhorn. It's hole 8, past the basket, looking at the nuclear power plant cooling tower. Two things I love about Buckhorn are that I always leave with "a certain glow" and night golf is a cinch-- you don't even need glow sticks :D.

Other scenic water shots are hole 9, 10 Long tees, and 11. The drive over the water on 11 is the most treacherous on the course, and it also has a great view of the cooling tower.

Side note: IMO I consider Valley Springs in Durham to be the best course in the Triangle, especially with "Fore Moor" and the new awesome tee signs! However, Buckhorn is more scenic, and the Blue tees are more difficult than the Blues at VS. Many (if not the majority) consider Buckhorn to be the best course in the Triangle. They're both very really good and have different strong points.

i thought it may have actually been 8 after i posted but didn't take the time to count through. i have not played valley springs since they lengthened it- of what i've played i'd consider it a tossup between zebulon and buckhorn, leaning towards buckhorn.
