Timber creek park Gloucester twp nj

Thanks for your hard work at the course! I look forward to playing it when it's all done. Maybe I should post a recipe for turtle soup or something, haha jk

Here's the story that the paper wrote about the situation. His first lie is that he saw "workers bearing chain saws" we are not permitted to use a chainsaw. We are using simple hand tools. If we used a chainsaw and used it to cut down the size stuff that we are we would already be done the course. When he confronted me I was using a grass whip (it's like a pre-historic weedwacker)to cut the grass and stuff down on the fairway. The second one is that we are cutting 5 to 7 foot trees. I don't think this is a typo he has said things like this to scare the locals from the beginning.

No mention of the many concession stands that will be built throughout the course though? Or was that just another one of his total fabrications and scare tactics?

yeah, no concession stands - but I bet the soda & hot dog cart guy in the parking lot is gonna love us!!!

No work day this Sat 10-6-12. The Mayor wants to meet with the county and have an ecologist make sure the course won't have a negative environmental impact on the park.

Is anyone associated with the course going to accompany the mayor and this guy on a walk through the course

the layor vistied with the 'activist' last week, the time was set for 8am Friday, which I was there but no Mayor. He did end up showing at some other time last Friday though and walking through with only one point of view... :-(

Today, the course designer and man that proposed the course is walking through with the township officals, an environmental specialist, and basically the powers that make the deisions... After that, the designer (John) will get together with the local golfers and share what is going on, and the plan going forward - which should happen tomorrow.

Just running into some opposition, and may just be a delay, or have a very difficult time going forward. No idea how this will turn out at this point, we will know more tomorrow.

Meanwhile the opposition continues to gain support of those who are blindly following them and believing every lie they are being told. Their Facebook page is filled with the most ignorant, hypocritical comments you could imagine. If you have the time, share some positives about disc golf and try to get the truth across to these people. It will most likely be deleted by them but it can't hurt. Just don't "like" the page as they use the number of likes as a talking point in their favor.

I don't have a Facebook account, but to the people that do, please go on there and stick up for disc golf! They make it sound like we are pillaging the land, their propaganda needs to stop!!!

maybe we need to recreate a thread on the general discussion section. I don't have a fb account as well but the more posts the harder it will be for them to delete all of them

I have been telling the local disc golfers who have Facebook to go on and let their voices be heard. scunham, your idea is good, it has worked on this website for other situations in the past and maybe it is what we need to do.

Alright, lets start a new thread pleading fellow DGCRers to help us! I am willing to bet that most people on this site will be more then happy to leave a message about how disc golf benefits the land, not ruins it, on the Save Timber Creek Facebook profile.
