We are in the process of putting together a review website that we call REVIEWdg and we are asking for a little help from folks who would like to be BETA testers.

We just need you to register at the site and review a couple of discs – kick the tires so to speak. We welcome your feedback here.

All of the navigation stuff is not in place and there is still a lot of housekeeping to do, but the basic REVIEW engine is built and we are curious as to what you think of it all.

Some of the questions/drop-downs we ask you to fill out help us build dynamic charts that will become available to users once the database starts to grow. We will be adding new manufacturers and discs all of the time. And remember you don't have to fill out every line – only fill out the ones that you want to when it comes to styles of throw and disc characteristics.

Thanks and Throw Well,

trotter

You can start here... and bounce around from there...

I see a login, but no way to register. Social media logins don't work, either. :?

Thanks for the heads up - forgot to turn on registration open to anyone... you should be good to go.

http://reviewdg.com/?p=885#comment-24 - The first user review has been approved and it is exactly what we were looking for... Love for you to try it out too.

I did my best. Probably helps that I have to do that sort of stuff at work

It's what we were looking for... more than - "I love this disc... 5 stars".

By the way... we'd love if we could get one you guys from the shop updating over at TALKdg site - promote, educate, entertain... whatever works.

yeah I'll definitely do some. nice to give reviews that don't get lost in a 100 page thread about PDs

If you are not getting the email with the temp password - just enter your username and click on lost password...

Just another little thing that needs to get fixed before the Launch.

oh also in case you didn't know the PDGA # part of the review is set as only a single digit. could only type in one digit

Do us a favor and try REVIEWdg.com out... Register and submit a review on the Innova Champion Teebird... got an opinion on the Teebird? Of course you do... submit a review at our BETA site REVIEWdg and help us make the site better. We need to keep breaking it, so we can fix it. Help us find the flaws...

Teebird - Champion - Innova

I've never thrown a Teebird. Honestly.

Took some time to check out the site again quick this morning, and figured I'd throw out some initial feedback.

  • Any plans for a different browsing navigation style? I think the tag cloud style is neat for casual browsers, but I think a more well defined structure would help those who intend to really plow through and write a bunch of reviews. Currently, I see too many categories at once and have to scroll for quite a while to see them all (especially on mobile devices). I think a classic hierarchical navigation should also be available in order to easily narrow my search. Alternatively, you could add filtering like Ebay, Amazon, Tiger Direct,etc... which could be really nice.
  • On a related note, all the links along the right side look nearly identical, and could probably use some more defined separation and maybe some color? Consider the separate containers for links used on a site like http://www.barnesandnoble.com/ebooks/bestsellers.asp. Also :idea: - .sidebox li a {text-decoration: none;}
  • I think the check-marks are kind of difficult to work with since they have such a small profile. I prefer stars as they give a larger area to work with, but maybe little discs, or at possibly make the check-marks a wee bit fatter/larger or something?
  • I haven't gotten around to testing this, but does it remember your information from post to post or do I need to enter that I'm a right handed male who drives appx x number of feet every time I review a new disc? I could see that being a turn-off if I need to reenter that information a whole lot.
  • I did feel a little confused filling out the form the first time. Any chance you can add hover-text descriptions to the categories? I didn't really know what I should be thinking about just seeing the word 'handle'.
  • Categories for head and tail wind I could see being nice as well. I always wonder how new discs will hold up in a headwind specifically. Also, not sure if it's often considered, but how the disc wears over time might not be a bad thing to have. I know my S-PD flies completely different now that it hit a few trees, whereas my star teebird doesn't seem to have changed since I bought it and started beating it 2 years ago.
  • A personal pet peeve of mine is when I see half the page filled with social networking junk. I think you could bury that Facebook and Twitter stuff in the footer like http://www.pdga.com/ or near the top in a subtle fashion like http://www.nytimes.com/ or http://www.amazingsuperpowers.com

I think that's all I have for the moment.

All that.

Very good looking site, but not the most intuitive.

A couple small details I noticed.
Pics don't always match the discs (Champ pic on a Star review, etc.)
I like the links to the manufacturer page.
No Discraft?????
I also like the separation between the manufacturers, the type of disc and the plastics, but just not the layout of it. Maybe a drop down box or something like that.
Not a big fan how the demographics (gender, throwing style, etc.) resets to female left handed. If it resets, why not to a blank?

Otherwise, great start and I have a few reviews in queue.
