I'd be curious to hear what specifically makes the Aviar special. I have a soft spot for it - the Classic was my first putter, and I mostly switched because I like softer/floppier putters - but nothing stood out as truly special to my unlearned hand at the time. Fill me in, folks.

Probably nothing, really. Maybe it's just that it's been around a long time. It's also really easy to find DX Aviars. I believe that every single place that I have ever seen discs sold had at least on Aviar for sale.

And I'm not saying that I don't think that It's a great disc. I do believe that it is. I carry 4-5 in my bag depending on the course and conditions, etc. But if I'd have started out with some other putter instead, I figure that I might just feel the same way about them, too.

I would have to say its versatility. Theres a bunch of molds (bb, p&a, yeti etc). It starts off nice and stable and wears into a great straight flyer. Everyone likes a point and shoot approach. Its also great for cycling with so many plastic options.

Roc, Aviar, Teebird
I'd pick Firebird & Destroyer for fourth & fifth

I say in this order:
Teebird
Aviar
Roc (even though i dont throw one) I throw the champ shark.

Teebird, Roc, Aviar in that order.

Honorable mentions: Valkyrie, Firebird, Eagle, Leopard

Wraith (first disc)
Valkyrie (hate eagles and teebirds)
Rhyno (first putter)

That's basically what I wondered: how much of it was a product of the mold's inherent capabilities, and how much of it was simply chronology? I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on that.

Makes sense. I do like that there are multiple versions (although it confused the hell out of me when I was first starting out!): lots of opportunities to pick your preference.

I've spent this entire year trying WAY to much new plastic but after every new driver or mid I throw and think I love, I always go back to throwing destroyers, teebirds and Rocs.

I would love to throw teebirds and destroyers but they are $$ for the good plastic; on the forums anyways....

At least I can still buy nice kc rocs and aviars. Can't deny how good the teebirds and destroyer are either haha. I just chose the firebird over them because I actually still bag firebirds.

Teebird, Roc and Aviar.
The core of my bag. The only thing I'd like to see is different options for the beadless and BB Aviar. They are very different discs, but both have a use in my bag.

Need to be more specific!

Yeti-Pro Aviar for sure though
Thing tames cliff drops like a knife slowly cutting through butter.

And it's some of the only Pro/ R-Pro plastics that I actually like and don't consider a waste of money.
