Form check

You have a nice swing but I think you are crowding the disc and not getting it deep into the chest/power pocket. Basically rounding.

Notice how once your plant foot hits, your hips and torso drift toward the disc as they start to rotate open. That's like trying to play tether ball but the pole is on wheels and moves around as the ball swings. Ball's not gonna swing right. No fun. You want to anchor the hips in space (on the x-axis) so there is a solid base from which to swing.

Besides that I would just try to get a 90 degrees or wider angle between chest and upper right arm throughout. Your upper arm collapses to your chest currently. For some people this is fixed by trying to get the elbow up and out, or trying to feel the swing of the disc from reachback into the pocket, or just generally creating a feeling of concavity and creating space for the disc to travel through. Depends what clicks for your brain.

You are moving the disc back and forth, instead of moving around the disc more and pushing the bow more forward ahead of the arrow and loading the sling. Need to let go of the arm/disc into the backswing. The door frame drills should pull your shoulders further back as you stride forward.

Thanks! Yea looks like I'm trying to go straight forward but instead move more right to left so my body gets in the way of the disc.
Interesting point about the bow and moving around the disc, haven't thought of it that way. I'll check those videos.

That makes sense. I tried the doorframe drill and I wish I found it earlier. That and the bow analogy really made something click. Gonna stick to that drill for a while to get used to that feeling.

Everything was so static and then so fast and spinning out. I would work from standstill. Swing back and forth continuously, smooth backswing and transition forward into the plant/power pocket and then go.

Make rear arm move targetward going into plant. Your rear arm is behind your back in backswing and then moving away from target during swing.

I don't think the direction of your reachback is wrong. The shoulder turn is too much/forced though. I think if you swing something heavy you might get the feel for the weight of what you're throwing to dictate how your shoulders turn/wind up.

Played a few holes and tried using the off arm. Let it swing out away from the target in backswing and then forward into my body going into plant. Kind of got the same feeling of tension as in doorframe drill or swinging something heavy. I was throwing as far if not further than before without really trying! Felt effortless.

I have known that my off arm isn't helping me but I didn't think it was that important. And when I have tried using it more actively in the past I think I have been too late or focusing too much on rotation. Gonna work on this more and get a video next time I'm going to the field.

I haven't been able to replicate what I did that one day when my drives felt good lol. Annoying. Been trying to work on stand stills now.
My right lower back/hip has been getting sore from backhands so I have had to take it easier too. Could something in my form be causing that?

Here's one standstill and one x step. Sorry for the bad angle

Need to lead more with your elbow out/forward to swing the disc in/out more of center chest.

Update. I feel like my drives have become more consistent and I'm hitting my lines more often than ever. No back issues either. Overall driving feels better but distance is still the same although maybe easier to achieve.

I have been trying to get the elbow out more which has been difficult. Today was a little better but still needs work.

Looking pretty good! Your hips look really stiff and could probably use some mobility exercises.
Bring your shoulder forward like using the back of the shoulder ram down a door. You spin your shoulder around too much which collapses the upper arm.

Thanks! You're probably right about the hips lol. Haven't done much stretching/mobility in a while. I tried the battering ram drill but can't get the same feeling with a disc. Maybe I'm focusing too much on bringing the disc to chest instead of keeping the elbow out? Typing this I tried to forget the lower arm and did some swings and felt a little better :D have to experiment this more

Your rear foot looks to be spinning down, instead of loading and driving into the plant. You then drive too late after planting front heel and fall back away from target/front foot.

Note how you finish with left foot behind right foot and your shoulders square to target, instead of being pulled thru shoulders inline to target and left foot stepping forward.
