Give it a shot

I'll give this a shot. Just started really throwing backhand this summer. These throws were about 400ft downhill with the destroyers. Don't feel like I get much more distance on the downhill, but I never really attempted 400ft backhand on level ground. The third throw I did a little different because it's a leopard, so I had to hyperflip. I find those fun.

Let the critiques rip! Would like to get more distance (don't we all).

Don't turn back so early, you're limiting your forward hip rotation doing this. Do your x-step with your side facing your target and once your rear foot plants after the x-step, begin to rotate your hips/upper body back and reach back. Your goal is to be fully loaded and rotated when your front foot plants. Also, front foot planting a little open. Your front foot should be perpendicular or toes slightly turned towards you.
Slow way down. You are also rounding a little, which is when your shoulders open up too soon in relationship to your arm. I know of someone (ahme Sidewinder ahem) who watches his disc through his whole throw. You may try this.

I'm actually impressed with your ability to stay relatively smooth with so much speed and movement.

Your actual throw (not the x-step) is looking pretty good from what i can tell. I would appreciate a few shots from the front left of the t-pad if you record again

Terrible video quality. Some parts of your footwork look good and others bad, and I agree with what Lucas said above. You are turning backward too far/early. Your balance is too far behind your heels for sure. You are also rounding your swing and holding the disc with both hands in the backswing. Put your left hand in your pocket. Keep the disc more out to the left side of the tee pad from your toes/body during the entire backswing and forward-swing. You are swinging the disc closer to the right side of the tee pad more over your heels back and forth so its a rounded arc looking down from above you instead of being pretty straight or actually arcing the opposite way. In the Top of Backswing pic below, your disc would be way further to the right behind your left shoulder with your upper arm curled in closer to your shoulders/chest. Widened out your upper arm at the top so the disc stays in a straight path with your body staying out of the way.

Thanks for the responses. I really appreciate it. I will try and work on these things and work on these drills. I will also try to get that different video angle if I get a shot.

Thanks again.
