Texas Disc Golfers

Any of you central tx guys gonna be at the tourney at Benbrook (Leander) on May 22nd? I can't make both days of the zboaz open that weekend, so I'm probably going to head down south for the one-day. I'll most likely get to the course early enough for a practice round saturday late-afternoon. Pics of the course looked wide open, but a few reviews mentioned tunnel shots and some wooded / technical stuff...any input on how good (or bad) the course is??

i will be rusty! i should finally get to meet ya. the course is mixed. some open ,some technical. its a nice course when its manicured and according to the td,the course will be in top shape, mowed, easy to navigate and theyre adding 2 holes to the 18 since 2 of the original holes are short as heck. first 3 holes are openish, next few are technical with some open ..its nice. it has some water hazards but we havnt gotten much rain so i dunno if theyll be bone dry. theres 4 holes out in the wide open and it sometimes gets really gusty out there

they doing tee times at COTO this year? that would take even longer than Pease if they kept that tradition

The first thing I said when I first played Met was, "I can't wait to see a how a tourney goes down here". Its going to be Loooooooong. COTO will be tee times as of right now.

Well now that I think about it the Met Open wasn't that bad and we had tee times. It also had a much smaller turnout than COTO will(at least half). We did get 10min+ back ups on all the long holes. Hole 10 was like a 3 card backup at one point. Hole 1 will be interesting for sure.

Some people will have 4hr rounds no question. Only the Mahalics will survive !!!! Yes i coined Mahalics for all the peeps getting drunk on Mahaly Juice.

Looks like Benbrook is a no-go for me this weekend...travel partners bailed, which means np RV to stay in, and my entry $ would probably be better spent on neew tires for the car :/

I am gonna try to come down next weekend to play some Circle R (if its open) to get reacquainted for the National Teams qualifier there in September.

Any austinites want to play tomorrow? I'm probably headed north to play wilco and NT

If you don't mind me having my boy in his stroller I may be able to make wilco. Of course that's if it doesn't rain.

Sorry I saw this post late but Wilco is closed at the moment. Construction near the course.

"Hi Chris,

Just got an update on the disc golf course. Apparently they started early. As of now the disc golf course is closed until further notice. I'll keep sending you updates. Linda

Bump. Who's playing Texas Teams this year? I haven't committed to a team yet, but I've got a few offers so it looks like I'll FINALLY get to check out this infamous event :)
