Thanks. We were doing double or triple duty at the EO. I don't think much if any of my material ended up on discgolfplanet broadcast but lcgm8 edited all and filmed most of the daily recaps raw data and Duesler may have added all sorts of text and graphics in his end. Dunno i haven't been able to watch the shows yet. We had long days... lcgm8 had an injury at the Tali Open so he needed to be careful with his leg and on FFA forums he wrote that he was losing the best filming places to overprotecting himself. I think the material is fine nevertheless.

Weekly competition on Thursday before the dubs of Tali Open. Relaxed playing before competition. The US players were either getting familiar with the course or refreshing their memory from two years back.

Simon Lizotte has such smooth technique and the lines he throws are frickin amazing.

(Although it does help him, that he has that big wingspan.

That hole at 3:26 is probably the greatest thing I've ever seen a course do. I want to play that hole, swear at the mando and complain about the trees! :lol:

I'm so pissed off about the ¤#/#/)(% rain cover coming to view. Unfortunately the viewscreen was covered on the right side too so i did not notice the cover being in the shot. The rain showers were pretty intense and i wasn't about to risk my camera before the European Open sorry. I removed plastic each day but there were problems even after the dubs :-( I hope lcgm8 can crop into the picture enough to make the darn cover to stay out of the view. He told me that he couldn't crop more because of the lack of image quality in the deeply cropped video.

My thoughts exactly. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if you haven't said anything.
 
I've seen the cover too often and it will continue to make appeareances later. It was almost problem free later on in the event and i don't think that many if any shots are ruined by it in the European Open. I think the problems with the cover were worse than on the video. Luckily lcgm8 can crop the video some so that not as much of the bleeping thing isn't in the view.

Miko Fyhr is a seriously beefy and far and high throwing player rated at 987 the last time i checked. In one Finnish championship in the distance event he won in a slight downhill place with IIRC a 191 meter throw.

Tommi Tohni to my understanding does not get to play that often so his skills are fine but consistency is an issue. He was still better overall when he played a practice round with me and others in the Dutch Open 2010 while i was competing in the dubs with Ascodemus.

Seppo Kuikka is always competing for the top spot in his division in Finland and often humbles 30 year younger players. I've had the pleasure of playing dubs with him once. He is a nice man.

Ville Piippo should not need introduction but for those that are new to the sport he is the man to watch for sidearm drives and overhand throws. He has held mobile phone tossing distance world record among his many athletic feats. He has won the Finnish and European championship. He is in the middle of recovery from one of many medical issues so his placing in the top at the EO in the first round was a pleasant surprise. Dave Feldberg lost big time to Ville in one part of the EO course and later commented that: "He is a machine". It easy to see why. Ville won the previous Tali Open against Avery and Nate. Tali is the home course of Ville.

The temperature for this round wasn't that high because of the early time. Moisture and wet teepads weren't making things easier for them.

lcgm8 filmed two groups in this first day of the competition. This is the first one. I filmed another group. More of them after this group.
 
I like how hole #6 (buncr hazard-end of last clip) is laid out. It has great risk reward and forces the players to really think about each shot. I enjoyed watching it being attacked in the earlier posted dubs clip. I personally feel that we need more holes like this in our sport.
 
There were many groups waiting for their turn on this hole because of the many retees. It did not work time wise. Also the next hole caused time delays but that is to be expected, because it is just so brutal. Risk vs reward on #6 had some people trying to go short of the bush on the right but in the middle with a midrange. And still fail. The prevalent wind direction is rear left and it hastened the onset of fade and made it quicker and harder leading to many OB lefts.
 
Ville is indeed a machine, but gods, please JR, teach the man a better looking putt. It looks like he gives up 1-3 sure birdies a round because of the inconsistencies in his form.

And Miko looks like a stud ... very reminiscent of the first time you post video of Juho Rantalaiho (sp?) ... You can tell that there is a guy who knows what he's doing.

As always, your filming is superb, and we all appreciate in no uncertain terms what you and your crew do. Those of us here stateside love watching your vids of the Euro scene.
