What did you think of the DVD Mejlholm? There are very few copies around as of now and i haven't had a lot of feedback yet. I assure you the BluRay vs DVD is a whole other ball game and feeling and the ability to see what's going on despite having lesser cameras and HD ready resolution then. VS full HD with better cameras now. We're getting better all the time.

It's actually been a while since I looked at it. The only points of critique I remember was some smaller pieces of footage being overexposed due to your camera that crashed during the filming(if I recall correctly) and that the DVD menu could have had a bit more love (the thing that sprung most into the eyes were the yellow highlight color when chooing footage).

Other than that it was a pretty good first release and the editing was true to the spirit of lcgm8's youtube stuff.

Thanks for comment:

I had some hard times to fix JR' s footage. Today i could do it better. I made first fine menus for DVD and when i test it on Philips BD3000 i couldn't go every where on screen with remote control. So it's stripped down menus, but i might fix it looking better before making some new copies of it.

Thanks Joe and Arne. We need to look at different options and so far the legal stuff seems to be undecipherable.

We are very close to letting you guys know where to purchase a digital copy of Tali Open 2009 double DVD from.

We have many free videos ready for downloading as well and some of them are full HD 1080p resolution. They have a much much higher video quality than the same videos on Youtube at the same resolution. Some of the stuff is what i'd call full HD resolution done right. Eye candy :)

Just hold on we'll have treatment for cabin fever for you soon. I'm hoping the initial releases are ready in very few days. The material that isn't free is very aggressively priced because you've waited them for long enough and they are our first attempts done with lower quality cameras than the 2010 season. And we want as many people as possible to enjoy these. Go promote the sport and show these to everyone :)

The files are large so you need room on the hard drive to store them. The DVD version comes as an ISO file from which you can burn it to two DVDs and the disc and cover art are supplied so you can make a full hard copy if you'd like to. Tali Open 2009 720p HD ready resolution version isn't that far yet. So if you want it as a BD you'll have to wait. If you want a sample of how it looks like we do have parts of the event up already as mp4 files in 720p resolution but they can't be made into a BD disc that would work in a BD player. So they are viewable on computers only.

Here is great piece of advice from a legend, hall of famer and double doubles world champion in open division Tomas Ekström. He is one of the sources of information of Blake thus each of us on this forum. A disc designer and manufacturer at Latitude64 and organizer of all things disc golf. Do yourselves a favor and watch the entire piece.

Sorry for the English translation some of it had to fit the screen while not filling the entire screen. We were exhausted while filming this after the event. My feet were swollen and burning and i was glad to be able to stand through it. While filming. This was ad hoc so we had no real script and i hadn't rehearsed at all so multitasking asking questions with a foreign language proved too much for my Swedish skills. Because i had all my brain capacity tied up by trying to find the right words to ask the questions. That showed in poor grammar and other mistakes. Ursäkta.

Once i get the final details i'll post how you can purchase Tali Open 2009 double DVD as a digital download. Or 720 resolution pieces. There are a lot of HD and HD ready free clips to download as well. If we're lucky the release is tomorrow. A part of the sales is given for the event organizers to help in organizing the next Tali Open in 2011.

Hee hee. I like how that song makes the whole video very mellow and it suits disc golf well. Anybody spot familiar bits here? 8)

I haven't heard of it but there are more of us than me and we sent an email to Gateway and Dynamic Discs from the Scandinavian Open 2010 that they can use Nikko acing vid as they please. So at least that would be officially sanctioned because we asked for the permission of the TD to give the permission and did it in staff capability. I don't know who HyzerDG is. It is nice to know our work is appreciated enough to be loaned so i take it as a vote of confidence. No skin off my nose.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming this is the first round of the Finnish Open 2010 from the camera of lcgm8:

A lot of new faces for you to see in these videos. Part 4 has one of the most influential teachers for DGR Tomas Ekström in it.

Interview with Big D 8 8th place finisher Erno Värynen at the Finnish Open. Once more in the tried and tested lcgm8 style of interviewing no time to prepare for the interview so i was thrown to the deep end with just a few sketches of ideas of what to talk about without any practicing. Yes we know there are some bugs but i'm told there's nothing to be done about those.

Ekenäs Energi Open from Tammisaari/Ekenäs, Finland following some of the best players in Finland. Part one. Miko has thrown the longest in distance competition measured throw in Finland at 193 or 194 m IIRC reportedly a few meters (two IIRC) downhill.

Check out how strong Jaani Länsiö is. He is one of two throwers in my town that have talked of the follwowing (Ville Piippo probably falls in the same camp because he looked puzzled when mafa and me told him of right pec acceleration): They throw far and have gotten better results from accelerating the arm from the left pec. I have no reason to doubt them and they both are equally massive in the muscle department. So it is well within the realms of possibility that they may be able to accelerate beyond the rip which is IMO the requirement for the longest throws an individual can make. That much muscle power is probably needed to achieve the best results starting the arm acceleration so early. As for mere mortals you test it out from where you can start the quickest part of the arm motion and getting your best D at the moment. Develop muscles like Jaani and the best acceleration point may well move earlier into the throw.

The wind starts to play havoc even to the great players and still they manage many tap ins. Markus and Teemu have Finnish championship titles in different divisions. Furious lefty action. Markus is a true gentleman but obviously he's also a fierce competitor and it shows. He has high expectations of himself playing on his home course.
