I love looking at this table for all the tournaments and admiring the incredibly long heater that Rick was on from March until World's in August, winning or finishing runner-up in every tournament over that stretch, except for the Vibram where he got a fourth.

18 total tournaments, 12 firsts, 5 seconds and a fourth. Impressive. Most impressive.

Reminds me of the GSW from the beginning of last season. Rick hopes his season ends better than the Warriors' of course.

If he ends up being POY, I think that stretch in the middle of the year will have done it for him. That was a sick, sick zone he was in.

So, you've practiced with KJ?

Yes, I have. He was there one week early for the European Championships 2014 in Geneva (at my home course). We were two guys of the local club playing this event so we showed him the course. We played a fast round (only 2 drives), so he didn't took notes because it was his first round on the course. He is really a cool guy (he gave us some tips) and the other local ended up hosting him and Simon during the event. And he got tons of presents from them (chair, discs).

Then, we let him alone on the course, he basically only played the first 3 holes that day, trying every possible shot and taking a lot of notes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxCAPiEj1a4 Here's the video where he talks about his preparation. His interview starts about 38min15sec.

The funny thing is that I ended up playing with him at the European Disc Golf Championships two weeks ago during the second round. He was starting to move up the leaderboard. Unfortunately, it was already too late. And that's probably because he only had 2 practice rounds before the event.

You left out the ADGT Wysocki won!

So now I am guessing that since Paul willingly removed himself from the Green Mountain Championships that clearly this is Ricky's fault and any victory he has will be hollow and have little meaning. Since the best player ever who is not currently injured(though it seems like if he loses he must be injured) chose to not play. :wall:

No, Paul concedes the year to Ricky. Simply put.

On the other hand, I do feel a need to post on the Conspiracy thread.

Paul will be playing USDGC so what happends and how would it change if he wins that tournament?
Will it be called a tie between them?
Ricky got 2 major wins so far this year.
I guess we will just have to wait and see.

USDGC is huge, so a Paul win would definately bring the scales closer to even than without it.

Sort of, but if you build a GS mentality, with your GS being Worlds, EO, USDGC, and Paul wins EO and USDGC, that gives him the lead. But in this environment, that isn't enough, you have to add two other events, the general tour, NTs and else, and Ricky wins that, and the Pro Tour final, which Paul has now conceded, at least it looks like he has. That gives Ricky a three to two advantage. I give it to Ricky and frankly, he deserves it, even if he gets it because Paul shot himself in the back side.

Tiger didn't have the most majors title taken from him, he gave it up by being a doofus. That doesn't negate the winners who come after him.

WHAM! Tink, tink, tink. WHAM! Tink, tink, tink. WHAM!

What is that sound you ask? It's the sound of Ricky putting the nails into the coffin, and any notion about who won the season. And yes, I know, Paul still has plenty of time to make up some ground, but Ricky played solid at GMC.

Actually European Masters was the Major this year, not the Open. So even if Paul wins USDGC, Rick still has two out of three.

I'd still rate the EO as the more prestigious event. Honestly, it doesn't matter. If Paul wins USDGC, the debate will rage the entire off season with much glee. BTW, I'd like some weigh in on what people think was the best tournament between the two of them? Ricky was pretty darned near perfect at GM. I didn't watch every throw but I don't think I saw a single shank. Were there better for either of them?

Debate is gonna rage no matter what. But IMHO Ricky is going to win 2016 POY, even if Paul wins the USDGC. Ricky's had a great year, and won the World Championship.

More interesting to me is who the female POY will be.. probably Catrina, but we'll see...

As ever: JMHO, YMMV.

Yeah, but if I agree with you, then I won't be able to drive the Ricky fans nuts by counter arguing. The problem is that fans expect perfection. If your guy isn't perfect, well, I can argue my guy is better. Based on scope of play well, one guy has the lead. BTW, managing your health and fixing problems is a skill.

Btw, If Ricky doesn't get POY, hmm mm something is amiss. I say that as a fan of underdogs, guys under Ricky and Paul, and based on wins. On such things you don't get to argue semantics and injuries, it's the record baby.
