Auburn is not what it use to be 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 21, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

easy to park.

Cons:

Course redesign is bad. I started on this course in the 80's, in 94' this was one of the World's courses. Since then this course has been hacked to pieces. Hole 14 seem like a half mile walk around the lake to throw a 200' hole. Everything that made this course one of the best, the swamp area, large throws, technical shots, have been altered, shortened or completely removed.

Other Thoughts:

The tennis courts that were added, get in the way of hole 1.

Good views, Sub Par planning 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 7, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Very clean course. Multiple pin spots. Challenging. Ammenities all over. Water, water, and more water. Large layout with longer holes than most other courses in the area. Good mix of technical holes.

Cons:

The layout. Hole one has a tennis court blocking half of the area in front of the tee. Many non discers populate the area and often walk or jog right in front of the even if you are in mid throw.

Other Thoughts:

Having played this course twice I can now say that i will more than likely not be back. The layout of this course seems hap hazard at best. Holes 8 to 10 are throwing directly at each other creating a huge bottleneck. Only to be followed by 11 whose fairway is shared by 12. While one is throwing to the north from the south the other is throwing west from the east. This causes great confusion if your discs look anything like someones that lands near yours. Other than the poor layout this course is great. There are some great holes that line the water with a nice size creek that flows, and a nice pond that is surrounded by ducks and geese. Just look out for the joggers, most could care less that you are getting ready to hurl some plastic and will just go right out in front of you.
