Nice big concrete tee pads from both short and long positions. Great signs at pads showing pads, baskets and lengths. Some good signs for navigation where needed on the course also.

Course is in the back of a large community park. It does a decent job of keeping you away from other park users. 18 nice, new baskets in a mostly wooded, technical layout.

Some nicely designed holes. This course plays almost completely in or around the woods, and makes nice use of the terrain for the basket positions. Baskets are located on hill sides, near creeks, and tucked back into the trees on more open holes. Or placed in the open on heavily wooded holes. It's a pretty nice mix.

Course also uses elevation where possible. There are a couple decent downhill throws for your enjoyment.

A walking/biking path comes into play on a few holes. It would have been a nice thing to avoid when designing the course. A couple pads play from the path or over it. Not my favorite feature in a course.

I was pleasantly surprised by this course. I went in with low expectations, and discovered a cool little course right off I-85. I guess you never know.

Some highlights include #3 that plays from a hill, forces a tee shot between 2 trees and goes steeply down to the basket 260' away placed right in front of the creek. Pretty shot.

I also really enjoyed the twists and turns of #14 and #18. Both holes made in necessary to play smart and hit some spots off the tee. #14 also has a basket at the bottom of a small hill in front of the creek, making your approach shot a little interesting. Nice design.

#16 is down and up with a tight little gap to hit. I could see where that one could give people problems. But hit the gap and you've got a decent chance at a birdie.

While there really isn't any amazing holes, or epic bombs here, there really aren't any bad holes either. It just has a nice mix of technical holes that require you to throw a lot of different shots. There are some very tight holes that make you do a double take on the pad, and there are some more open holes that give you some room to err. Don't be lulled into thinking this is just a short little wooded course either. There are several holes over 400' including a 480'. Overall, this course has some decent length for a wooded course.

I'd highly recommend stopping for a round if you're making your way up or down I-85

Look to the right after number 2 because if you go to the tee/basket you can see, you will get stuck on the beginner loop and never find the rest of the course.

Overall this course is one of the best in the area and is rarely crowded, so you can take your time and enjoy it.

Seems to be improving as more people play it as saplings and brush are beaten down a bit.

Fantastic layout and variety. I felt like I need to choose a different disc for each shot. I thought the different pars and distances made the course more interesting, fun, and challenging than a course that has all par 3's.

I looked at the earlier reviews for this course and it seems they have added plenty of signs and tee pads since those reviews. I thought it was well marked and the tee pads were definitely long enough. Also, I noticed in earlier reviews, people thought it was too narrow or wooded on some holes. On the holes that were more narrow, the par was greater (a more open 320 foot hole was a par 3 and a thickly wooded 320 foot hole was a par 4); therefore, I generally thought the pars were fair, aside from 1 or two holes (see cons), and these kinds of holes made the course more interesting.

Overall, the course was well maintained and beautiful. I will be back to visit this course!

The only con I have is more of a personal preference. I think the pars were mostly appropriate, and were very suitable for intermediate level players. I kept trying to figure out what the pro par would be for each hole, if they were playing a PDGA tournament. The hole I took the most issue with was a 480 foot hole was listed as a par 5; most advanced players would be approaching or jump putting for double eagle - which is exciting but not realistic. =)

Highly recommend this course for all levels of players.

This is probably one of the best if not the best course in the Triad area. It is definitely one of the courses along with Johnson Street that you need to check out if you are in the Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem area.

On several holes there are a long tee and a short tee. Most of the longer tees provide a different type of shot than the short tee. It is lefty/right friendly as there is an equal amount of holes that cater to both types of throws.

There are uphill, downhill, and flat shots. There are holes where your butt will pucker as your disc goes flying through small gaps and holes that you can stretch out your arm.

Water/Creek comes in to play on many of the holes. To increase the difficulty on several holes, the pin is placed 15-20 feet in front of an OB creek.

There were some issues with the teepads but the city has now come and fixed them. Before the fix, there were several teepads that were slanted or were placed on an uphill slope.

If you can keep the disc in the fairway, you can have a really great round on this course. On many holes, if you get kicked off of the fairway, you will be lucky if you can scramble for par.

The tee signs are a really great touch as well.

I did not notice if this was on the tee sign, but there are some navigation issues from one hole to the next. For example, finding 10's tee can be difficult unless you have played the course before, have a map of the course with you, or have someone that can show you around.

The other issue is the drainage issue on a few holes. One hole, 11 I think, will have a large pool of water about 50 feet short of the basket. Due to the hole design, many discs will land in this area. I don't know what if anything can be done to fix this issue.

If I had a choice between Johnson Street, Yadkinville, Reidsville, Horizons, and Barber park, I would probably chose this course to play 9 out of 10 times.

I played the longs except for 2 holes due to the teepads on those two whole being the 2 of the teepads the city needed to replace. The par from the longs is supposedly 64 but I feel the SSA would be closer to 60.

IMO, hole 18 is the most difficult hole on the course. The scores on this par 4 will range from 3s to 7s(if not higher) depending on if you keep the disc in the fairway or not.

I first played this course in Summer 2010 and found it difficult to complete due to the tightness and growth. Today's round was a complete surprise. All of the previously annoying holes have been trimmed back, the brush has been removed (or thinned where appropriate) and overgrowth is gone. The previously obnoxious holes (300ish feet but too tight to actually go for the hole because you're afraid of going into brush that consumes your disc and your soul) are now enjoyable and play like a good disc golf hole. Lots of elevation changes throughout and good risk/reward opportunities (water behind the hole appropriate distances). A good blend of left to right, right to left and straightaway shots.

I am not a fan of prototypical Russell Schwarz courses but thankfully this one only has one (arguably two) of his hole styles I abhor. #15 from the longs provides you with no realistic throw at a short birdie putt, despite being a par 3. A good/great drive still leaves you with a 60' putt/approach.
#14's (long) tee pad signage is directly in the backswing of a RHBH who is attempting to anhyzer (the line of choice). Not sure why it is placed there.
Despite HUGE work on improving the water issues, still a bit soggy on the marshland hole.

Possible solutions to #15: Move the teepad forward 15-20 feet and left 15-20 feet (or in other words, just move it straight toward the basket) to turn the shot into a consistent hyzer line. Or just move the basket closer. I would prefer the pad movement because the pin placement is pretty.

Ridiculously better than previous play. Previously would've rated the course a 1.5 and only rate a 4 because I fear the summer will bring back some of the problems from last year.

Great work, kudos to whoever transformed this park.

This course is plays a lot different than it did when the baskets were installed one year ago. Many of the holes (1, 2, 3, 8, and others) have has the fairways widened and clean up in keys spots to make drives, approaches, and putts possible from more locations. Some holes of the par 3.5's are now birdie-able.

As previous posters pointed out, tee-pads on several holes are uneven and rough. These will be replaced for the B Tier Tournament in April. Once this is resolved and some rough areas are cleaned out on holes 6 - 9, this course should receive an excellent rating.

This course is still a work in progress and already plays much better and should continue to improve in the near future. In terms of learning to control and laying up your discs, this is a great course. There's a typo on the par info for the course. The Red Tees (short pads) should be par 59, not 71.

Nice beginners loop for new players or players of any age.

While the park is big and offers a lot of other amenities, once on the course you feel like Disc Golf is the only game in town. Nice.

The "long" layout of this course offers a nice mix of wide open holes and tight wooded holes, some good elevation changes and lots of serious rough.

Course seems weighted to the right handed throwers but their are a couple natch lefty holes and a few with right and left lanes.

There is a premium put on accuracy and precision moreso than the big arm.

As mentioned, a few tee pads are not intuitive (4 & 12 come to mind) but, as traffic increases (and it will), the paths will get better.

A few holes get mucky after serious rains but so do all courses. Take an extra disc and a towel or, if you don't like the muckymuck, avoid the course after bad weather.

The last few holes get a bit repetitious but they do offer ace runs.

A lot early of reviews were pretty harsh on this course. During our first round I thought "What's up with that?" cause my buddies & I loved the course.

This course feels like it keeps getting better, it's an easy ride from anywhere in the triad and the tee pads and signage are getting installed as, I'm sure, $$$ and time allow.

Don't let some of the early reviews fool you, this course is a great addition to NC Disc Golf and to Triad golf in particular.

18-hole course challenges any skill level with a wide variety of shots for left-handed and right-handed throwers.

A lot of work went into the design and layout of this course.

Course is "beaten in" and more seasoned than when I first played here....the fairways and teepads are greatly improved.

Signage is top-notch!

Multiple teepads for beginners, average players, and tournament players.

Only con is water that can be overwhelming on the course after extremely heavy rains.

Excellent location with easy access from the Interstate.

Love the way water is used to border many landing areas and fairways.

Truly is a "creekside" course.

After 7 long, highly anticipated years, I'm back baby! My long-awaited return to Creekside finally happened in February 2017. Let's just say this course is sneaky good and over-the-top fun!
- The course was a major work-in-progress in 2010. Who am I kidding? It's was close to a disaster. Having a hole with a walking-path wide fairway with tall grass & rough on both side of the fairway? The course needed an overhaul. And that's what it got.
- There are some fun, creative hole layouts. #3 is a perfect risk/reward layout. A downhill, 260-foot (long tees) shoot-the-gap hole with an OB creek long and right of the basket. You want to be aggressive, but not too aggressive.
- #7 is a solid station-to-station layout. It's an uphill, 372-footer, that makes a sharp, dogleg right turn slightly past halfway. You're better off sacrificing distance if you make sure your tee shot lands in the fairway.
- #8 is a great signature, classic hole. A long, legit par 4 at 474 feet. It has a classic Bracketts Bluff (RIP) feel, looking and playing like that course's #12 & 13.
- The course rewards good shot making, creating true scoring separation. IMO, there are many holes here that feel like par 3.5s - you feel great about a 3 and a little disappointed with a 4. #4, 5, 7 & 18 all can yield a 3 with solid tee and approach shots, leaving you with a makeable putt for 3. Even on #11, I had a great tee shot, but smacked a tree with my 2nd shot, leaving me 2-putting for a 4. Had I missed the tree, I'd be looking at a real chance for a 3.
- Plenty of holes that can be reached with a mid-range or driver, even for us noodle-arms. Average hole length is 283 feet, with 13 holes under 300. That said, some of the tougher tee shots are from the shorter holes.
- Once you find the first hole, the course is a breeze to navigate thanks to plenty of good signage. Why that signage doesn't begin in the parking lot is its own issue, but only for first-timers.
- Awesome, big park overall. There are plenty of different amenities for all sorts of activities.

The biggest negative is the safety concern. Too many holes play over and/or along the walking trails. #14 is a great hole in and of itself. However, it's a blind, slightly downhill tee shot/approach shot to the basket with the walking trail about 20 feet to the left of the basket. Throw in the fact the course weaves across trails, and I can see plenty of park goers using the fairways as additional trails.
- Course does have low areas that can get/stay muddy after rain. Even other holes could offer tricky footing (#7 & 12, for example) when wet.
- Course seems like it is missing one more longer, signature hole. As it is, the course really doesn't require you to throw driver. You're going to score as well, if not better, by throwing 250-foot tee shots that land in the fairway versus a 350-foot drive that ends up in the rough. The course tests every other part of your game, just not driving.
- A couple holes in the closing stretch seem too easy/unimaginative that it hurts the overall quality of the round. A filler hole in the beginning of the round is forgotten by the time you're on the back nine. When you play a couple filler holes in the final stretch, it's deflating.
- I don't recall seeing many, if any, benches and/or trashcans throughout the course. Unless you break this course into an awkward short loop (#1 -4 & 14 (or 15) - 18) you're committed to the entire round. Throw in the hills, and some long walks, and some people are going to need to take their breaks.
- Get better/ANY signage pointing players from the parking lot to the first tee. From the parking lot, you see the basket for #18 and short course #6. Based on these two baskets, do you know what way to walk for hole #1?

I had a blast playing at Creekside Park. I knew my 2010 review was woefully outdated. I finally made a return trip, and immediately regretted not playing this layout sooner.
- Course is close to being really good. Replace one or two holes with something better, and this course quality gets kicked up a notch.
- This course reminded me a lot of the Kiwanis course in Staunton, VA from its look, feel and flow. There was also a little Kilborne-flavor, for my hometown comparison.
- The course did a great job of emphasizing the risk/reward element. On almost every hole, I can easily see a 2-stroke swing based on how well I'm throwing, or how lucky I am that day. On hole #1, for example, if your tee shot doesn't make the curve on the dogleg right, you could find yourself deep in the woods. I thought I threw a solid tee shot. It only ended up 10 feet off the fairway, but I still had to chuck it out around several trees for my up-and-down to salvage a 3. I also bogeyed one of the easiest holes - #15 - because I hit a tree and got a brutal kick deep into the woods.
- Fun course throughout. There's very little monotony to the layout with layouts changing up from hole-to-hole. Take this stretch of #3 - 7: straight downhill (#3); straight to slight dogleg right basket (#4); flat, dogleg left (#5); downhill semi-open (#6); longer dogleg right (#7).
- I'm giving this course a 3.5 rating. Just like all the other courses in the 3.0 - 3.5 range, there are some flaws to the course; but, overall, it's a solid round. I hope I'm back here in less than 7 years for my next round.

Updated 10/07/10: Concrete teepads for all holes. Tee signs for all holes give distance, fairway shape, and pin location. The Pro loop is quite challenging overall, mostly tight wooded fairway alleys ,punishing toothpick rough and some creek action on 7 holes. Reasonable length at about 5100'.

6 hole beginners course behind playground area exposes new players to the sport with relatively short and some tight fairways. This plays 1,2,3b,4b,5b,6b from the hole page - plays 1177' total .

While the teesigns are in, no next hole sign are there yet. The progression from beginner 2 to Pro 3 was not marked, so you have to go right just before as you approach 2 pin, straight across a T intersection of an asphalt walking path, and downhill on that path about 200'or more. 3 tee is on the path, marked with sign playing downhill to the creek. 4 is back to the left on the same side of the creek and back up the path 50', then go right into the open fairway. 5 is across the bridge and then right. For 6 go away from creek turn right down wide path, then left on narrow path. 10 is down the hill along the pipeline and then turn left along the creek. 15 is back across the bridge and right. Most other holes are either visible, or have a very discernable path leading away from the pin.

Flooded/muddy and high creek areas (5,6,10,11,12,14) could be an issue during prologed wet periods, especially winter months.

The design could be different, and the fairways could be wider in places, but I am not splitting hairs on those points. Unlevel teepads have been mentioned as a negative, but I barely noticed them. Just glad to have some concrete. I heard that the more tilted ones are gonna get replaced in the future FWIW. Leaves are gonna be an issue in late Fall and Winter, so watch those discs well.

Overall, my latest experience on this course was vastly improved, and fun. Perhaps the dryer conditions, concrete pads, tee signs, and general course flow knowledge made for a different mindset. I boosted my eval score from a 1.5 to a 3.5 , and I think this course can be a solid 4 with a course map, next tee signs, alt pin placements, and general tweaking. I recommend this course if you are traveling through the area. I may workup a course guide if time, so check the links section. Enjoy.

The course has very good amenities and is centered around a very well kept community sports area.
There is already a monday night league formed for people just getting into the sport that would like to meet disc golfers.
The discatcher baskets are very easy to spot for first timers playing the course.

The hole design is a little weak in my opinion. There are many fairways that are too tight for comfort.
The "Pro" loop can be easily confused unless shown to you by someone local and familiar with the area.
Additional grooming of the "off the fairway" areas is necessary to provide for some level of risk/reward for trying to punch through.

Give it time! I will adjust ratings in the future as this course gets more attention and more attraction.

UPDATE: I've played this course repeatedly now. Still very clean and well kept. The beginner loop is not the easiest but with practice would be. Big teepads, excellent tee signs on whole course now as well as on the beginner loop, complete with little DG tips on throws, grips, etc. The locals have done a good job of turning many of the "unfairways" into legitimate holes. What holes are super tight are given an appropriate par so that most non-Open players are not playing for bogey. There's still some tricky lines and windows to look for to play some holes well but that's a pro I think. Great park full of ball fields, basketball, playground, etc, very nice little walking trails through out. Plays within a serene, winding creek. Amenities restrooms, etc. Really nice discatcher baskets.

The course has really been opened up, not exclusively with the fairways but with the rough where on many holes like 6-10 really punished you with brier rife pain if you didn't keep your disc on the narrow fairway. Now a lot of those briers are gone so you can breathe a little on those holes w/o worrying about becoming perforated if your drive is slightly off.

Now that it's dry it's much better but some cons still remain. Always be wary of playing after the area has received a lot of rain b/c a creek does wind all around the course and it's low and prone to flooding.

There's still some safety issues that really hurt the course's rating IMO but most of these are due to the addition of the long and tourney level tees. Hole # 3's long tee is behind a bend of the sidewalk which is very used by patrons so you have to take care that nobody is coming around the bend when you tee off. Hole #17's long and tourney tees are actually marked off on said sidewalk and again you really have to be mindful of the patrons and occasionally wait for joggers and the like to pass if you use those tees.

Hole #7 irks me. It's uphill and would be more fun if you threw a big anny or FH but you can't unless you have a spotter b/c of the still very thick rough that flanks the hole. Otherwise you have to place shots.

Hole #10's tee has one stupid tree directly in front of the middle of the tee, you can almost touch it while standing on the tee. It would be a cool hole otherwise. The "green" on hole #11 has had a lot of earth moved around and looks like a construction site, holds water in tire treads.

Still not many holes to really air out a big drive so if you're used to playing predominately open courses this may not be for you.

I've gone from not liking this course at all to actually enjoying it now. It still has some tough, tight lines but the pars are appropriate so it's a non-issue to me. I do notice that many 1st timer's do not like this course, especially if they're used to park-style pitch and putts like Horizons. But if you like a challenge and don't feel like driving down to Charlotte, this is a quality course to play.

I just wish some of the long tees didn't have busy sidewalks in-play, otherwise I'd rate it higher.

Bottom line: Short-ish and very technical course requiring extreme precision and disc(putter) placement on many throws, posted par is fair and necessary to not destroy most golfers' egos.

The course is finished now and mostly all the work has been done. There are things that made need to be addressed still but, this course is playable and it is fun. It is fast becoming my new Johnson Street course now. The park is clean and signs are in place. Course offers a real good mix of open shots, a couple tight doglegs, tunnel shots, elevation changes, uphill shot and downhill shots. A couple of my favorites are number three, number four, number ten, number fourteen and number eighteen. I just played this past week and I can see where they are still clearing out some brush and getting things spruced up. .

Some of the tee pads are sloped sideways and it would have been nice for them to level them off. You could twist an ankle if not cognizant of this. Hole 10 is a giant mud pit near the basket after rain. a narrow culvert has been trenched to help with rain run off but, this area is really lacking...be prepared for mud. Another thing to contend with is the underbrush. We saw a lot of poison ivy along the left side of hole nine on the fairway.

I really like this course. We had the chance to play with the two guys that maintain the course and it was nice to see them out playing the course to see what all needs to be done to it. On hole fourteen, I would suggest moving the basket across the creek...it just seems like the obvious thing to do since you have to cross back over to play fifteen although, having the pin right next to the creek offers it's own challenges! I have upgraded my original rating from three to threedotfive. All in all I like this course..

I have replayed the course, and it now has all the holes in the ground and at least 1 tee per hole. If they do clear out the holes a little more, especially just off the fairways, it'll be a great course. There is a beginner loop and an actual course.

I like the ideas of many of the holes, but it is still a very rough course. Water collects in the middle of some fairways, and it is very rough to play in some areas.

It was fun, until I got tired or wading through water and walking through trees. I still enjoyed the course though.
