Decent intro course, great for wind practice 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 27, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Lots of great rolling hills or flat grassy areas making it difficult to lose discs in anything other than the water hazards (see cons below). Great wind that can either help you learn to throw and what to throw in windy conditions or really screw with your "normal" game. Even long tees are fair to make par. Had some near aces and long puts with a new player friend.

Cons:

Water hazards are fine if you can get to your disc in the hazard. Unfortunately over half of the tees are right up against muddy, smelly, and relatively deep looking ponds/lakes. The areas between the ponds are just creeks but the brush on each side of the creek can easily "eat" a disc, never to be found when it's likely right in front of you. We got lucky and didn't lose anything but saw several other folks that weren't so fortunate. Highly unlikely you will lose anything if you play smart/careful but the wind can really mess with that when you have long throws right at a basket up against the water.

Other Thoughts:

Though these types of courses are not as fun or challenging as others in the area, they are great for practicing your technique and learning the game or how a new disc handles. Creates a more even playing field when playing with someone that has less experience playing. Less likely to waste a bunch of time looking for discs like many other courses nearby.

Great Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 18, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great Wide open holes with very little trees/bushes in the way.

Although the park is used for other reasons, the disc golf course always seems "open". Never really that busy.

Incredible tee pads, clearly marked hole numbers, distances, and the pads point you towards the baskets!

Great course to learn how to play the game.

Cons:

Stinky, stagnate water, full of nasty stuff!

Lots of mosquitos... course can flood at times and be soggy.

The park is used for lots of other reasons (walking, biking, etc.,) There are people who have no clue that disc golf is even being played.

The shore gets steep fast, if a disc goes in the water on the back 9, more than likely-it is gone!

Other Thoughts:

Bring a disc retriever along with you! Lots of water!

Awesome discin 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 16, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Cement tee boxes. Open areas. Not over crowded. Friendly people. Close to rec center for water. Lots of parking. Easy to navigate. Different routes for alternate shots to avoid water.

Cons:

Water is very gross so if you lose your disk just forget it. The water is not running so it becomes stagnant. sometimes u may experience mud or puddles near tees and baskets.

Other Thoughts:

Just avoid water at all costs if you don't feel comfortable.

Great Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 16, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Open fairways, technical water shots with hazards on both sides, you can see the pins from the tees but the holes are still technical. There are ways that you can avoid the water so if you are unsure whether or not you can make it over the water play it safe and go around.

Cons:

If you throw your disc into the water DO NOT GO IN!!!! The water in the lakes is not running and has become stagnant they are filled with trash and stink beyond belief.

Other Thoughts:

I would recommend this course to everyone!
