This hole curves gently around the hill to the left, but has height available to let my Verdict fade in towards the blind pin position. It's important to get out past the bend, because the rough can be bad on the hill slope.

Another hole where hitting the gap (and keeping it low) is the goal, I usually throw a Buzzz firmly at it, and try to get it to skip and slide to the pin. (If it has rained lately, watch your footing crossing the muddy creekbed...there is a 'lane' to the left if it's real bad).

A real short hole that finishes left to right just past a few small guardian trees, the ideal shot here (for right handers) is a gentle forehand with a putter that will fade to the pin. I've got a friend who is ambidextrous enough to actually lhbh this because it's so short.

With it's un-level tee area, uphill, blind, and a 45 degree turn into a straight (not curving) lane to the basket, Hole 5 is the trickster of the front nine at Gulley. I throw a Verdict (rhbh) so that it will fade into the lane, and concede the fact that it will be short of the basket. Rather control to that fairway for the three than being in the woods scrambling for bogie.

A shortie ace run hole, #4 sits in the gap where another left to right path is best. Left to right again, and sitting maybe 15 feet further than it appears, I throw a beat dx Roc (rhbh) that turns right toward it. Mild danger if you turn right too soon and wind up in the bushes.

The only danger on this hole is getting into the thick bushes to the right of the pin. So an ideal flight path is something that comes in left to right. Since I don't have a very good rhfh shot, I throw my Underworld rhbh straight at it, allow it to turn right, and fade gently before getting to the shrubbery.

For most of us, the trick here is getting a good, strong shot through the gap, so choose a disc that reminds you to slow down and throw under control (perhaps a fairway driver). Deuces are relatively rare here, so remember: a shot that gets to the open field for an upshot and drop in is better than an over-zealous rip into the heart of the woods (which would leave you struggling for a four).

This straight lane shot takes a disc that doesn't fade much. I try to run at the pin with my CryZtal Buzzz. But even good, straight ace run attempts can zip into the woods beyond, so it's not all bad to hit the front of the hill at the steps for your deuce.
