Some holes have not stood up to time, matured trees have made some approaches very difficult and almost comical.

This course really tests your accuracy and creativity with different types of shots. You will find yourself in positions that require all the shots you know how to throw and some that you don't (or at least I don't yet). Most of the tee pads are still in great shape and most of the baskets are standing the test of time. This course also has dual practice baskets that allows a player to practice his approach and putting. It is nice the way that the park rotates the baskets to the alternate position every now and then. This give a casual round a new wrinkle.

I call this review beginner's luck because there are several holes on this course where it truly doesn't seem to matter whether you are experienced or not. I understand tight fairways but holes 6, 9 and 12 are ridiculous. A great throw can either just miss the trees and land in position for a birdie try or slam directly into one of the many trees in its path and set up a bogey. Most of the tee signs are old and need to be replaced due to vandalism the course changing or just age.

This is my "home" course and I have played it quite a few times. It is a great place to go if you just want to get a quick 18 holes. It takes less than an hour solo and just a little longer with a group. The park also has a couple of football fields which are great for a little field practice after a round. The park also has many other amenities (playground, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, trails, paddle boats and decent fishing) if you need to distract your family members while you play.
