Pros:

Relative to other area courses, this park has good elevation changes. It plays up and down grassy rolling hills with few flat holes. If you like throwing drivers, you'll really enjoy this course.

The course has a really scenic start and some very good holes in the front 8 section -- I really enjoyed this first stretch.

Cons:

But about halfway through, having thrown the same two discs (driver, then putter) for almost all of the previous holes, it became very monotonous. My main issue with this course is that almost all of the holes felt the same to the point of not being much fun.

This course is about throwing it far, with minimal risk/reward on most holes. Not sure if it was intended as such, but the distances are more gold level than blue level, and there is only one set of pads. So if you can't throw 400', you'll be throwing driver followed by short upshot / long putt for most of the course. I max out at ~375 as a low level open player and for me, every hole felt like throw it as far as I can followed by short upshot. No shot at birdie, very little shot at bogey. No thinking, just throw driver, throw putter.

The wooded section was absolutely foul and depressing. I've never seen more trash outside of a dump, just heaped up and pouring out a lake into the woods. Imagine a nice lake ringed with herons wading into it, with an oil refinery on the opposite side, and a 10' ring of trash running up the bank, with continuous trash scattered everywhere in the woods. It immediately borders the interstate, which is incredibly loud and unpleasant.

On top of that, the wooded holes weren't great - first one is decent, followed by an OK mid-range turnover shot, followed by a bad hole, a short throw and hope shot with no fairway.

Other Thoughts:

I read the prior reviews and was expecting a better course. I really enjoyed the start of the course, but between the depressing excursion into the forest and the lack of variety, that went downhill throughout the round. Traveling by plane that day, I only brought 4 discs, but only used 2 most of the round.

This course has really good potential to be 4+ and the first 8 holes were really solid. If the woods always look as they currently do, I'd seriously look at a redesign that avoids that area. The trash was gross, and the holes, as currently laid out, weren't worth it to me. I'd avoid making people walk through that altogether.

Pros:

-Nice quite course
-21 holes of different variations and hazards.
-Right off the highway and easy to get to.

Cons:

-Grass doesnt seem to be mowed often
-Signs were yet to be installed and had to make up some of the holes as my phone died with the map on it about half way through.

Other Thoughts:

Ill be back to check this course out now that signs have been installed.
