Very different than any other course I've been to in the Greater Houston area. Milby provides elevation changes, which is nice being in Houston where everything is flat.

Some of the tee boxes still need to be filled with cement, but totally not a huge deal at all.

IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL! The grass looked freshly cut, and it was sooOoO green. I really enjoyed this course and CANNOT wait to go back.

I've played every course in the general metro Houston area and finally here's a course with some elevation changes. Being from Houston we all know that elevation is something that we just don't have here, except for two holes at tom bass that use the giant amphitheatre wall, but Milby has some sort of elevation on 7 of the first 8 holes on the course.

This course has 21 holes so far with three holes that have alternate pin placements.

Holes 1-6,8-10 and 16-18 all have really good elevation changes ( more than 10 feet in elevation drop or rise ).

Holes 3 and 18 are both long and play very close to the bayou and will reward smart shot placement or if you get too risky and go for the gold on your drive, you can end up in water. ( There are some trees along the water that can save you from losing your favorite disc )

Average hole length on this course is probably around 320+ maybe even longer and there is 21 holes so a good full day of golfing can be had here and each time you play you'll find new challenges. Winds around here can be blasting from the north and an hour later swapped completely around and come in from the south so your whole approach to the course can change over the one round.

This course can pull every shot out of your bag regardless if your lefty or righty. A lot of holes you can try to take a RHBH hyzer shot, but it definitely doesn't mean thats the best shot for the hole.

The course has a map available on the LINKS/FILES area on this DGCR website and it is completely accurate. There ARE blue posts marking each hole so navigation is pretty easy without the course map in hand anyways.
The only confusion may be between hole 8 you will go to the middle island area that the road circles when you first come into the park and holes A,B,C are on that front patch of land. After hole C is completed hole 9 is just across the road towards the crepe murdle trees away from the holes you just played. After 9 you'll cross the little ditch bayou to the left and from 10 on is very easy to navigate

There is a chemical plant just across the bayou so when the wind blows from the south it definitely can smell like "money" as some would say, but if a slightlt stinky smell is what we have to sacrifice to have some elevation while playing close to downtown Houston, so be it!

If you end up deep behind hole 4 ( which is unlikely unless you throw 500' and have zero aim ) there is poison ivy so watch out.

They are missing trash cans throughout the park and maybe a bench or two, not necessarily an absolute necessity, but an easy fix that could add just that little extra umph to a course.

This is such a great course and it doesn't even have concrete tee pads yet, which is the ONLY reason this course isn't 5 stars. The money is being raised through the minis played out here on Mondays at 3:30PM and Sundays at 9:30AM. They are run by really nice, trustworthy guys so you know that what you're paying into is going to be safe and organized. Big ace pots in both minis!

People out here have done an amazing job cleaning up the park from scratch and bringing it to where it is now. Hundreds of bags of trash were picked up and hours and hours were put into clearing the land for new alternate pins.

Locals poured there literal blood sweat and tears into this park to get it where it is and it is a great course.

For one thing, the course at Milby Park is in a location that really lacks any kind of good course. The nearest to courses are dilapidated Mason Park and wide open MacGregor Park. It is a good location for any people living inside the city.

The property itself is fantastic. The park has rolling hills and big oak trees and a bayou to the south side of the park that comes into play on a few holes.

The course utilizes this elevation very well. A few holes play down and then back up the hill. Hole 6 plays on top of a hill. This course has great elevation change for being a Houston course.

The course has a good amount of length. The park is huge and the designers used that to make the course have a fair amount of long holes.

I liked how the designers implemented the three wooded holes. In my opinion, they are a good break from the monotonous long hole over and over again. The wooded holes will only continue to get better as they are worn in more and more.

My biggest complaint about the current layout is the amount of holes that just feel repetitive. There are not too many score separating holes, and it can feel like you are throwing the same type of shot with the same discs off each tee, minus the ones in the woods.

With the wooded holes being added, a few of the holes that actually added some variety in the temporary layout were removed. Hopefully, the course can be approved with a few more holes to add a little bit more variety.

The course is definitely much needed and Houston disc golfers are excited to have it in the ground. This course may eventually be the most played course in the city.

To start out, I've only played this course once, and that was enough for it to be one of my favorite courses that I have had the chance to throw. Although the course is still in it's early stages of development, the level of aptitude and masterful course design easily makes this one of the best courses in the surrounding area of Houston. My favorite quality is the idea that no hole is the same, none of them are even close(except 15&16, but planning is in the works to relocate 15). There's a huge variety of different lines to take on most holes, the elevation changes on some holes make them that much more grand, and the overall flow of the course is exceptional. The park is in a great location as well, the pedestrian traffic is very low, except on one hole(11) that the tee pad may need to be moved due to throwing almost directly near a pavilion, other then that the course feels dedicated to disc golf.

*Beware of Chiggers in the wooded holes*
There is no map, tee sings or tee pads right now but there is a highlighted tape that guides players through the course so its not too difficult to navigate. Holes 13-16 are very underdeveloped and unless you're extremely confident in your throw I would advise passing them for now until they get cleaned up. Hole 11 shoots right next to a picnic table and a pavilion, when we played this whole area was full of pedestrians and we had to skip this hole. Also, beware of the sticky sticker patches, these plants will eat you alive if you are not careful.

Definitely one of my favorite courses I've ever played. The design and layout is almost perfect and the location is awesome. There's just a few minor things that need to be fixed up and that will just take time. I would recommend this course to any type of player, it's very enjoyable.

Overall course layout and beautiful location makes this course the best in the Greater Houston Area. Holes are tough but fair and distances will challenge you. Water comes into play as do several majestic old trees so skill shots are rewarded too. Rolling hills give elevation changes that are a true rarity in our flat city! Average hole length over 400 ft so bring your fastest drivers. A must play for all Houstonians when it is available.

Still just a temporary course so no permanent signs or markings yet.

This site is perfect for disc golf...central, scenic and yes secluded so no worries of hitting pedestrians, campers, bikers etc.
