1. Course utilizes many natural features to increase your skill level (Water, low ceilings on a few shots, a few baskets between tree's, etc).
2. Easy to navigate
3. Tee's, baskets, and signs are clearly defined and easy to find.
4. Beautiful scenery with wildlife and nature to enjoy while playing
5. Baskets have 2 positions that get changed randomly increasing the skill level and fun to reach them all.

1. Often tree's are in need of trimming and can block baskets
2. Geese poop around all the water holes, bring a spare towel.
3. Easy to feed the lake with a disc or two, and its not the kind of water you want to go into to get your disc.

I've worked in Grinnell for 11 years and play threw this course a couple times a week on average. If you're going to shoot the water holes its good to bring some cheaper or older plastic. I usually carry a DX Beast in my bag for this purpose.

Scenic course, plays around a small lake that is teeming with wildlife. Good signs, good concrete tees, and nice baskets. Several holes where the water is in play adds difficulty. Moderately wooded with mature trees that really grow over and make for some tough lines. Good disc placement is a must. A bad skip or a roll away could land you in the lake. Decent flow, good use of space. Just a clean, well-maintained park that is very rarely busy.

Goose/duck poop. Not so bad in the spring and fall, but in the middle of the summer it's everywhere. It's not a very long course, very little change in elevation, but overall I think it uses the available space quite well.

I would consider this an intermediate type course. It isn't long, but you have to be able to hit lines, land your disc in a good space, and make some bold shots over water. Hopefully some more people that have played this course recently will offer some reviews, because most of the complaints from the old reviews here are history. I really enjoy this course, and plan on playing it more often this year. League on Mondays @ 5:30p.

Amenities. Ample parking, picnic shelter, restrooms.

Variety of holes. Each hole has its own challenge, whether with big right to left holes, slight left to right holes, guarded baskets, water in play on multiple shots, low ceilings, and mature trees scattered in fairways. Most holes offer multiple lines. Every hole was enjoyable and fun.

Baskets. All baskets are in good shape, multiple pin positions available to mix things up.

Tees. Concrete tee pads with a tee sign showing a rough map and distance to the multiple pin locations.

Navigation. Relatively straightforward, check the tee sign, the nearest tee isn't necessarily the next tee, but each tee sign can easily be spotted from the previous basket with a little bit of searching. If in doubt, print a map or play with a local.

Residential area. A couple holes got quite close to a neighborhood, a high hyzer on hole 12 easily ends up in the yard or on the garage roof. (occupant seems friendly and understanding, as he gave us a rake to retrieve a disc off the roof). But this could be avoided with a mando.

Length. Most holes were short to medium length, only one hole (10) was approaching 400'.

Not for beginners. Though short and offering relatively simple lines, it would be a perfect place to learn the game if it wasn't for the water on multiple holes, I'm sure that lake gobbles up discs for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

An enjoyable round worth the stop if in the area, be prepared for water and maybe carry some 'water' discs if you're worried about losing any.
