Fun little 9 hole in a tight area 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 10, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Just like the last guy said: Beginners can have just as much fun as experts, and multiple tee pads allow to play the course many different ways.

Nice change in elevation, decent tee pads, and good baskets. Also, there is a practice basket available near the basketball court. If you have a dog, not only is the course dog friendly, but there is a dog park.

Cons:

Only a 9 hole, but the extra tee pads add some more variety and distance. Some holes get close to a street or houses, but the course uses as much land as can be expected. Also, some heavily rocked areas can bang up discs; and for most shots I'm throwing putters, which tend to get jacked up quicker. A durable throwing putter is a must for this course! The ground is very dusty and dry, but that should be expected in SoCal. Some of the secondary (long) tee shots are not obvious as to their location.

Other Thoughts:

First time playing was with the local club. Its a $5 buy in for random draw dubs (A/B format). The club was real friendly and I enjoyed playing doubles with them.

Don't let the vegetation fool you. At first, I expected the "rough" to hard looks for discs, but it really isn't that bad.

Short but sweet 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jan 3, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course is packed into a fairly small area, but it is well planned so that the holes don't feel like they are right on top of one another. The space is used only for disc golf, so there are never other park users on the course. Two tees for each hole add a little more challenge. Lots of ace run holes from the short tees, and a little more challenge from the longs.

The course plays up and down a fairly steep hill, so there is elevation on nearly all the holes which helps keep the shorter holes more interesting. The uphill holes are shorter, and the downhill are much longer, keeping the course accessible for beginners from the shorter set of tees.

There are nice signs on all the holes, and concrete pads on all the short tees. There is a practice basket near the first tee, and the park has a dog park and basketball court. Every time I've played the people playing have been very friendly and fun to play with.

Cons:

There is very little shade on the course, so on sunny days it can get dusty and hot. Almost all the baskets are out in the open, and there are very few obstacles in general, so there are not very many risk/reward decisions forced by the course.

The dirt and occasional rocky areas can be hard on cheaper plastic, especially on the longer downhill holes, but this is a really minor thing.

Other Thoughts:

Fun little course that is great for newer players and families. Great use of the available space and the terrain to turn a dusty hill into a neat little course. Great place to work on approaches and long putts, especially on the shorter holes up the hill. Good workout if you play it a few times, walking up and down the hills.
