Pros:

The course is set up in a small, clean park in a small town. The course would probably rarely be busy because of it's location. This will be used frequently as a warm up course for nearby Richfield (North Park) for us. The course meanders around park starting north of the pavilions in the center of the park. The flow is easy to follow for the most part, and there's a map of the course as you're walking to the practice tee and hole 1. The practice tee has a putt 360 set up just like the 2 Marshfield courses. Nice touch. The baskets are yellow powder coated Kingpins. These are some of the best baskets out there imo and these catch great and are very visible, just like the ones at Yellow Banks in Wausau. There are 4x4 wood posts with the hole # on them and a hole diagram and distance drawn on the top of each. There are also 2 bricks with the hole # painted on them at each hole serving as the front of the tee area. These serve their purpose just fine. There is water by one hole, technically 3 holes. Two would require really horrible throws but is also possible. There's elevation used well in a couple spots. Hole 2 downhill and 4 uphill. he course was very clean and well mowed and maintained. The course is free as well.

Cons:

There aren't too many trees or other obstacles to worry about. Pretty wide open for the most part. The course is only up in warmer months due to it being right along the Yellow river. I agree with the thinking for this though. If it ever was busy a few fairways run near others and the road. Not even remotely as bad as other courses I've seen but could be an issue. If you just pay attention when throwing this is a complete non issue though, so really not a con.

Other Thoughts:

This is definitely a nice addition to the area. This is not anything to go out of your way to play, but worth a quick round or two if in the area. Couple this, especially as a warm up, with North Park and you're going to have a pretty fun day of golf. Well done Pittsville.
