Great for Kids and Beginners 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 21, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great course for kids or for the one starting out. Holes about 125-185 feet and whole 9 being over 200 feet.

Cons:

During summer it becomes over whelmed with rattle snakes and thorns.

Other Thoughts:

If you are board with the course you can play the course as a par 2 or, if there are no other player's, skip baskets. Play from tee 1 to basket 2. You can even play backwards. That is fun too and gives a very unique challenge.

I love this course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 12, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Perfect for short-game practices
Tight layout for quick games before/after work
Each hole is perfect for different discs

Cons:

Very few holes are suited for long drives
Lots of thorns and dust during certain times of the year
Very short course

Other Thoughts:

I will always love this course. I played here many times when I first started and will continue to do so whenever I can.

The Pros and Cons are pretty connected here...its a short little course which is great if you want to play quickly or just get some practice in without hiking for miles.

On the other hand its not a course that will help you grow with your drives and it's not a great place to visit if you're aching for one of those epic hour+ long games.

It's well maintained, away from too much traffic. It's not the end-all of courses and it's far from being a "bad" course. It is what it is, a great little course for practice and quick games.

Good Quick Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 11, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is certainly a short course, designed for kids as they say (though I rarely see any there).

* Quick drive for most of north Chico
* Usually no waiting past a minute or two per hole
* Amazing course to work on medium shots and putts

Cons:

* Snakes like crazy in the summer. I usually avoid tees 2&3, as well as 6 during the hot seasons (run along the creek). Sometimes Chico area rec will even close these holes due to rattlers.
* No real spot to air out

Other Thoughts:

I usually make a 10th hole starting just after the 9th in the clearing (you'll see it marked where most people throw from) back to the practice target. There is a much better chance to air out doing this, however, it crosses the throwing lane of the 4th tee, so watch for people there and people near the target itself.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 28, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

well marked, chain baskets, easy access and interesting pin positions on many of the holes make this a well designed course for beginners and those just looking for a quick practice round. Very beautiful, especially in the spring!

Cons:

Will certainly be barren and hot in the dead of the summer. It is short, so don't kid yourself (pun intended) into thinking it is something more.

Other Thoughts:

Hey, just a warning. there are rattle snakes!!! i walked up on one last time we were out (3/28) Keep an eye out between hole 2 and 3 near the 3rd tee box. Area marked by a stake with pink ribbon. Snake was relatively tranquil, but nontheless, keep an eye out.
