Pros:
1) Good course for beginners to intermediate experience.
2) Layout of course on a sign near hole 1.
3) Each hole has a teepad and a post marking it, with a star with hole number inside it and pointing in the general direction of the basket.
4) Hole 1 is very close to the parking lot of park.
5) Challenges/obstacles on almost every hole to make the round interesting.
6) Rounds go by fast, maybe 20 minutes if you just play, with minimal stoppage time to look for lost discs.
7) Creek that runs through the course is dry so it is not a factor.
8) Layout is logical, you're not looking days for the next hole.
9) Practice basket near hole 1, by the picnic table.
Cons:
1) Summer time brings the rattlers out, so play at your own risk. If you do play, watch for burrowings or places that could be burrowings and avoid.
2) Signs on each hole were vandalized, but telling by the remnants of some that remain, they were nice and probably had all the info of the hole and direction of next hole.
Other Thoughts:
Driving from Sacramento to Chico, I was raring to go and get a few rounds in and Sherwood Forest didn't disappoint, except being on the lookout for rattlers. Bring you First Aid kits just in case.
I liked the layout of the course, on such a small area of the park. Could have probably put another 3 holes with the unoccupied space on the course. The mando on hole 8 is unique. They are arrows that provide the curved hallway to the short basket. One hole is behind a bush but short.
