-Very good variety of holes on this course. There are wide open up-hill shots, long bombs downhill, shots down tree lined fairways, and also a few holes that offer some really tight wooded fairways.
-The course is free to play, which is nice for a ski resort course.
-The elevation change on this course is great. Most of the holes feature at least some elevation. There are a lot of uphill shots. Holes 15, 17 provide a chance to throw long downhill bombs on fairly steep slopes. The designer used the available elevation changes on this course quite well.
-Good variety of distances on the holes. Some are really short and some are quite long. The distance on this course feels pretty well balanced.
-The course was very uncrowded and we only saw one or two other people on the course.
-The course for the most part was easy to navigate other than the walk to hole 18. There is a map near the first tee-pad and as long as you pick that up, you shouldn't have any issues navigating the course. Each tee-pad was marked by a pole with orange tape on the top and the poles were easy to see from fairly far away.
-This course was fairly challenged and I felt that I needed to use a fair share of the shots I had available to score well.
-Great basket placements. Lots of baskets guarded by trees. I really enjoyed Hole 1's basket placement, which is one top of a group of rocks.
-Course requires both accuracy and the ability to throw a decent distance to score well.

-The tee-pads were all dirt, a little rutted and if had rained recently would probably be muddy. I hope the rumors of improved tee-pads are true, because that is one of the biggest improvements this course needs.
-Sunlight Mountain Resort doesn't really operate during the summer so there was not really any maintenance on the course. Expect lots of tall grass and bushes on many of the holes. Having a spotter with you, helps ease the frustration of looking for discs in tall grass.
-Some holes play really close to each other and a couple cross over each other. If there is another group nearby you, keep an eye out for incoming discs.
-There is a really long walk from the basket for 17 to hole 18's tee. Up until this point the course flows really well, but this last walk breaks up the flow of the course a little bit.
-No tee-signs. I know this is a seasonal course, but I feel like some tee-signs would really help improve it. It would be nice to know the distances on some of the holes. It would be helpful to have a tee-sign with the layout of the hole too, since you can't always see the basket from the tee-pad.
-This course is quite a bit of a strenuous hike as the first few holes are quite bit straight uphill. Bring lots of water and be prepared for a long hike if you decide to play.
-There is quite a long walk back to the car after hole 18 and the easiest way back to the parking lot is straight down hole 1's fairway, which is a bit of a safety hazard.
-Watch where you step, because there is horse poop all over this course.
-At times one or two of the holes felt slightly repetitive.

Overall, this is a fun ski resort course and a solid addition to the other courses in the Glenwood area. With a few improvements (like tee-signs and better tee-boxes and a little maintenance) this course's rating would definitely jump up to a 3.5 or 4. If you are in the Glenwood Springs area definitely give this course a try.
