Pros:

This is the coolest disc golf adventure ever! Challenging and beautiful not your run of the mill halfway mowed and unthought out course you can find everywhere.

Cons:

None

Other Thoughts:

If you think blue ribbon is good, you will need to try this to get a real grasp on what great disc golf should be. Love this place and I've been to over 100 courses nation wide and I live in Billings MT where we have a top rated course known as Diamond X or Phipps Park to the locals.

A Minnesota Gem 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

As soon as you take one look at the property you know you are someplace very special. Scenic, challenging, and fully dedicated to disc golf. Maintained to the highest standards with beautiful wood chips, mowed fairways and relatively zero litter. Many signature holes including #14, my personal favorite. The baskets and tee pads were unique and both worked quite well. The option of using rakes or small boats to retrieve discs that went in the water was also a big plus. This course will keep players coming back for more.

Cons:

Very few, if any:
Number 5's tee pad was a bit terrifying due to my fear of heights. I ended up stepping over the line because I couldn't bring myself to go to the back edge of the pad.
Some might say that the course favors left to right drives, but if you can't make the disc go both directions then you might want to stick to courses that are a little bit more beginner friendly.

Other Thoughts:

This is a course that is paving the way for pay to play. It has a ton of character and I would put it right up there with Blue Ribbon Pines and Bryant Lake Regional Park.

Great Character course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Super fun variety of holes. Varying distances and difficulty level. Tunnels, woods, water, elevation - all come into play on this course more than once. The challenge is extremely fun. I loved the fact that many of the holes have a uniqueness and character to them that you have not seen in other courses. The course has very well maintained rings around the baskets which give the course a very unique look. Peninsula greens certainly play with your mental game a bit! But that is part of the fun that this course brings to the game.

Cons:

Can't really think of any. The only thing I would suggest is that a few of the tee pads are very unique and I would make sure to do a practice "run-up" to get a feel for them.

Other Thoughts:

It will certainly help to have a spotter on a few of the holes. I throw RHFH and I would say that the course favors that throw, but there is usually more than one line to throw on each tee box.

The course was definitely worth the trip to play. For sure a course that you have to play to appreciate the unique quality and character that has been built in to it. I know I will try to make it back there again.

Unique and Challenging 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Many original hole designs with a variety of unique features, such as shooting to a large mound(The Ant Hill), shots and tee boxes over water, elevated baskets, and peninsula shots.
Extremely well kept and attractive course, with very informative signs, nice tee boxes, and great greens, which are easy to spot and track because of the colored wood chips.
Most fairways have multiple paths to the basket to accommodate for different throwing techniques.
Many water hazards, but boats and rakes are available to retrieve disks.

Cons:

Hole #3 seems to have only two ways to get to the green, lay up on the near side of the water or try to throw over the entire water hazard. Maybe with a tree or two out of the way a spot on the left side of the water would be an option.

Other Thoughts:

We had the opportunity to meet the owner when we played.Very nice man who is very passionate about his disc golf course and disc golf in general.
Thank you for giving us a chance to play your course and keep up the great work. May your disc fly forever.

Build it...and they will come. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 9, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

My friends and I were greeted by a very welcoming & friendly host. You can feel the passion & drive he has for this course after speaking with him. Thank you, Mike! You made our day!!

I was blown away by the grounds. Very pleasing look to it. Easy to navigate. The course layout has some beef to it. One hole, 9, is under 200 ft. but presents risk/reward putting with errant drives. And the other holes make you earn every stroke. The distances are fair. But your throw better shred the lanes, the trees present an awesome challenge of tree-nial. Coupled with 7 holes that play near or over water....this course can bring the pain.
New tee pad designs were definitely useful. Our first round was during a down pour. The astro turf is a perfect surface for wet weather play. A player can still get nice foot rotation.

The tent area in the parking lot is a perfect area to chill before & after your round with the sweet smell of fresh cedar wood in the air. Heaven.

A Course You have to Play!! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 8, 2015 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Course Layout, very well done. The launch pads, not concrete, so you don't slip, a special surface. The baskets are surrounded by number of logs on the ground to keep us less fortunate players still in the game. Great views on each hole. Very open on the sides, not too much tall grass to look for your discs. The Zip Lines are fun, and very inventive. How many courses have you been to that have Zip lines.

Cons:

Water is not my favorite, but I appreciated that fact that the owner has a paddle boat, kayaks and a couple of paddle boards to retrieve your discs if they have a chance.

Other Thoughts:

I hope to play again, if it's open to the public on the weekends. Thanks for opening.

Disc golf Playground 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 23, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Risk Reward
-Holes with clear delineated fairways
-great mix of par 3's and 4's
-like the idea of the par 3.5
-T pads are awesome, movable, and the perfect amount of traction
-baskets catch well
-great signage
-Already saw improvements made from other reviewers suggestions...Mike is reading, so leave feedback and ideas.

Cons:

No cons, just thoughts.

Other Thoughts:

I think he is planning to do this but it would be great if all the T pads are dug into flush with the Earth so that you don't fall off after your shot or you can start your drive at an angle off of the T pad.

I wonder if he is planning on building a permanent clubhouse?

Will there be multiple pins with multiple T pads?

Seriously, this place is so damn cool, and it isn't even technically open yet. I can't wait to see what Mike does. I love that there are actual fairways and lines to hit rather than a crap shoot through a bunch of trees, very well designed and maintained course.

I can't wait to see what will become of this place considering it is already at the top of my list.

Cons:

Knowing some of the ideas coming into play in the future I have no negative things to say.

Can't wait to play some tournaments here. Perhaps Mike can start a league for members.

Pros:

This course is like a playground for disc golfers. VERY innovative holes, super fun and interesting without being too novelty-like. There are two zip-lines erected, and I am just waiting to see how they will be utilized. Beautifully maintained and the owner Mike is extremely welcoming of ideas and will continue to upgrade this already spectacular course.

Cons:

Lost discs, but Mike said he's developing a styrofoam ring that will float discs but won't effect flight. In the meantime, I bring a few throwaway discs for the few water shots.

Other Thoughts:

Course has a new awesome feature every time I'm there. This last time seeing the two zip-lines got me pumped. New tee pads going up to offer some different angles. Mike also said he has plans for a fountain that will play on hole 18 and will go on when there is pressure on the 18th tee pad. Can't make it up.

A magical experience. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 1, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

A very thoughtfully laid out course. You can tell that it was created by someone who is passionate about disc golf.
This course is difficult and though it doesn't have a lot of elevation changes you will find yourself challenged on every hole. The tee pads are very nice and can be moved to different positions. The owner Mike and his wife are gracious hosts and are open to suggestions. I am particularly excited about the idea of teepee camping and zip lines to take you from tee to basket or from basket to tee. This is a wonderful course and I encourage anyone who loves disc golf and fun to come out and play it.

Cons:

Not many that I can think of and seeing as how this was only the developmental stage for the course it will only get better and better. One thing I can think of is a few water shots where you could potentially lose a disc but the water is fairly clear and they have the appropriate tools for disc retrieval. Or you could just take my approach and go for a swim!

Other Thoughts:

I look forward to playing this course again and again and feel it is a nice contrast to Blue Ribbon Pines come and check it out for yourselves!

Such an incredibly well thought out course that has so much to offer. This is a PDGA pro quality layout all the way and tests all manner of different shots and scenarios. You better believe that when this course opens back up to the public with memberships that I'm going to be at the front of the line waiting to get mine. Disc Golf Playground 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 26, 2015 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Surely one of the most beautiful, unique, and fun courses you will ever experience.

You will find this is not just a disc golf course, but a work of art. There is clearly passion put into the course from everything down to the framed greens, color-chipped fairways, random sculptures, and club house tent of wood.

The course layout is challenging, creative, and constantly changing. It will force you to use a variety of approaches, play 'golf' holes, and throw some shots you've never tried before. The tee pads are movable so course redesign is very easy.

Last but not least, every hole is FUN in it's own way. Some holes will be amazing birdies to write home about. Some holes will keep you guessing on how to attack, and looking forward to the next attempt. Some holes have zip lines. All holes are picture perfect.

Cons:

Bring a few discs you don't love. There are about 3-6 holes where water is directly in play. Discs are periodically fished out, but don't expect to get them back soon.

The Arroyo baskets are not my favorite. They may prevent putts from cutting through but feel very heavy on hits. This means if you are not hitting exactly in the center, expect your putt to spit.

Other Thoughts:

I wish this course was closer to the cities.

Time and hard work definitely shows! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 26, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Unique course design. Signature hole #14 named "ant hill" is short yet challenging (water on left). Hole #5 teepad is extended out over the pond 15-20 feet above water.
-Turf teepads have been awesome! No need to brush off a ton of dirt so you don't fall.
-Constantly doing work on the course. Right on par with Blue Ribbon Pines as far as upkeep goes. Different colored wood chips, clean fairways, great tee signs and benches.
-Newly added zip lines on hole #14 and #15 that cut across water. I doubt they are for public use due to liability reasons, but it's a really cool idea!

Cons:

-Private course, but it's open to the public on certain occasions.
-Water. Lots of water. I personally enjoy the challenge, but it's very easy to lose 4+ discs in one round if you aren't on your game.
-There are a couple spots on the course (marked OB) that will really scratch up your legs because of thorny brush.
-Distance from twin cities. It's just outside the range, for me at least, where I'd only get out there for tournaments or organized events.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, this course is a MUST PLAY if you haven't already! This definitely raises the bar for how a course should look. Very well kept.

A little of everything... 2+ years

This course has a little of everything... You have trees and water, long holes and shorties... The course is beautiful, and will only get better with time...

Cons:

I wasn't a fan on the 18th tee, it seemed a bit unstable-even though I had a pair of decent drives on this hole...

The fact that it will be a private course, and only members and friends will be allowed(if the rumors are true)...

Other Thoughts:

I like the artificial grass like teepads...

Can't wait to play again 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 26, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Amazingly sculpted course
Water is avoidable if you can throw over 200 feet
Nice tee pads
When you pull up you can tell right away it's going to be a great course

Cons:

Not much of a "pro shop" I was planning on buying a couple discs for my friend coming with me to use for the day but selection was minimal
Member's only is a bit prohibitive BUT it has remained a beautiful course so that's clearly working for them

Other Thoughts:

I wish it were closer, I'd bite on the membership price.. but it's an hour away and I have several great courses within 20 minutes that are free or $5. I was fortunate enough to spot this on an "open to the public day" for a $5 entry and had a great time. I'll definitely go again when that becomes available.. that or if they'd let me do a punch pass I'd throw in some cash to make sure I could go back.. just that at $200/year and only maybe getting up there once every other month or so I don't see me getting "value" out of it.. Don't let that deter you though.. if you get the opportunity go play this course.. the only thing you may regret is that you can't play it again soon enough.

Also: we got stuck behind some people on hole 1 that took a timed 26 minutes.. we caught them as they were teeing off on hole 2.. we watched them drive and decided we'd skip ahead.. if you're new and reading this consider letting people play through if you have a group of people struggling to put and only 2 people behind you catching up right away.
