Should really be two courses... 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 8, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nice baskets, Discatchers. Catch well and are easy to see.
-Water hazards in the form of the creek (dry right now) and ponds/swamps on the back 9. They are appropriate for the level of play that this course should be aimed at.
-Full practice hole (hole 0) that I played after 9 on my way back to my car. You could just as easily play it before 1 as well.
-Pretty easy to navigate, the course isn't crammed in there too tight so you always know which basket you are throwing at.
-Holes 11-13 were solid golf. 11 was longer, had a few trees, and a fast green with an elevated pin. 12 had an elevated tee and shot over part of the pond with a basket placed somewhat close to water, probably the signature hole. 13 went straight over the pond at a manageable distance.
-Tees are concrete and are a little short but work well enough.
-There are walking paths but generally, this is a single use park for disc golf.

Cons:

-The front 9 was not a lot of fun for me. It was fairly long and the creek could come into play but otherwise offered little in the way of challenges. It was mostly open and just wasn't really interesting. I was looking forward to the back 9 because I knew it had water.
-Tee signs don't tell you anything except hole number. They had the word "par" on them but no number, hole distance, map, etc. Many of them were facing the wrong way which could lead to confusion.
-A few holes on this course won't really be playable if it rains. They play over or very near drainage areas.
-Like I mentioned before, the tees are short and some of the holes require a pretty big drive. They are a tripping hazard.
-You could lose a disc here if you are not careful on many of the holes.
-Not a lot of parking at the start of either 9. No other facilities either.
-You have to drive to the second 9, hope this gets fixed soon.

Other Thoughts:

-Hole 7's basket should be moved to the right about 20 feet to take advantage of that peninsula into the creek and make a much more fun risk/reward shot. Right now, on that hole, you only go in the water if you are not accurate.
-This really should be listed as two courses. There are plans in the works to make it possible to walk under the interstate but right now you have to drive 5-10 minutes to get to the other half. They are also very different courses. The first half has few trees or obstacles and would rate a 2 for me. The second half was more fun and might get a 3.5 (probably a 3).
-This course is fairly new and hopefully will gain some more trees for challenge and a way to connect the two halves. This course could definitely get better with work and time.
