Course in transition 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 18, 2015 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

1. Great mix of everything. Long holes that require a bomb and then your next throw is a finesse shot. Enough trees to make it interesting, but not so many that it ruins the hole if you have a bad throw. Water is in affect, but doesn't dominate the hole. The level changes used are stunning. Yes, they aren't going to have any 200 foot drops, but they do well with what they have.

2. Hole location. I can't think of a single hole that I would move. They are all located in a place that gives you a shot from distance, but can punish you if you miss. I ESPECIALLY love #12 shot to the peninsula.

3. Hidden treasure. I've now played two rounds and change on this course, and I've yet to see another golfer out there besides my group. Yes, Edora is only a few miles away, but I'd rather have a stress free day on this course than deal with the huge groups of people at Edora.

Cons:

1. This course is in transition right now. I've heard that they plan to build an underpass for easy access to the back 9, and that will involve moving the baskets to make sure 18 is by 1. But the course is SO confusing right now. Maps need to be updated if they are going to move stuff.

2. The back 9 has 8 holes, and one of those isn't technically on the list. DO NOT CROSS THE ROAD ON THE BACK 9!!! Holes 16 and 17 aren't there right now. You can see the tee posts, but no baskets.

3. Tee pads are short. Not a big deal right now in Winter, as I can't really get a big run up. But I'm going to want to bomb in Summer, and need some leg room.

Other Thoughts:

We threw two from the 15 tee pad. One to the 15 basket and one to the random basket by the lake. We also threw one from the hill above the 15 basket to the tee pad for 18. This should complete your 18 holes.

Great Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 21, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The back and front nine offer different challenges.
Well manicured and taken care of.
Great option if other courses are busy, rarely have had to wait.

Cons:

The course is split by the highway but not that big of deal. The back nine can be a little challenging for beginners because of the combo of possible wind and water.

Other Thoughts:

Would not recommend going under the highway until the walkway is complete.
