Wetaskiwin Disc Golf Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 6, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is one of the best courses in Alberta. It has 3 tees per hole and while the baskets need to be replaced, that doesn't make much difference in the end as everyone is putting on the same thing. The course doesn't have a signature trait like Canmore does with the mountains, Wayne does with the Badlands, Rundle with picnickers, etc etc. But what it is is a challenge. Every hole is there to face you and will not let you slack off. Its only other competition for level on continued aggressive challenge is Aspen Meadows East but that course has a few holes that are the same thing over and over. This is different almost every time.

But you do need spotters. Almost every hole.

Cons:

Challenge
Variation
Grass Tees (I like them)

Other Thoughts:

If it doesn't get used, it doesn't get maintained and when it gets hairy, it is not pleasant.

Pros:

Hole placement makes excellent use of the terrain. Course has all kinds of shots from wide open bombs to tight tunnel shots through the trees. Good mix of left to right, right to left and straighter shots.

Course is well marked and easy to navigate. There are score cards and maps as you enter the park.

Cons:

Bit of travel to get to. There is a lot of bush/trees just off most fairways which can make finding your disc a bit of a problem. Mosquitoes can also be a bit of a problem at times.

Other Thoughts:

One of the best courses I've played and definitely worth the trip.
