Homemade PVC Basket

I have only been playing disc golf for about 1.5-2 months and have fallen in love with it. So I decided to build my own disc golf basket for when I am unable to make it to the course.

The basket is made out of 1 1/2" and 3/4" pvc with Peerless 15' Light-Duty Dog Tie-Out Chain (from walmart). I used a ton of "T" connectors and 45* angles and at the top is an adapter for 1 1/2" to either a 3" or 4". The only things that I have left to do is to put some fabric inside the basket, glue all the pvc together, and put the remainder of the chains on.

I designed the basket following the PDGA regulations, except that the outside only has 8 chains and not 12. But the inside has 8 chains as well to make up for it. The basket also comes apart in the middle so that it can be easily transported.

I estimate that it weighs around 30 pounds.

that is pretty freaking sweet. how much did all the materials cost? i might suggest heavier chains though.

Yeah, you may want some heavier chains. Also, nice job! One of the more legit homebrew baskets that I have seen in a while

Looks good! I would suggest zip-tying some mesh fabric or netting to the bottom of the basket to catch discs. The gap between the 4-spoke bottom looks like they would fall through.

Believe it or not but these chains are working great, I just have not tried any really hard shots into it.

The total cost for all the PVC and chains was just under $60.

How stable is it? And could you take pictures of the chains connected to the PVC? This one is one of the better and "cleaner" looking designs I've seen.

To save MONEY the chains are just zip-tied in place. For an extra $8-10 you could buy some eyelet screws.

It is stable, I have not tested it on really hard shots, but I can always extend the legs further out to make it more stable.

Would you mind taking some measurments and maybe some instructions so that maybe someone could replicate this catcher, it is sweet and cheaper than buying one, thanks.
