Overstable mid (not drone)

I really don't understand some of these answers. If you're looking for something with drone level stability, rocs, pains, and hornets aren't going to do it. Zone's are close, but not quite as overstable. You will need something like a gator or step it up to a fairway and get a whippet or a trident. Both are crazy overstable.

Pain

I would describe the Pain as stable. It does not fit your description. If not Drone, then Whippet or Zone.

Yeah, not sure what you will find that's more overstable than a Drone. Try the FLX Drone or a beaded champ Gator. I have a Gateway Demon in my bag for those shots, it's also very overstable but on par with the Drone and the Gator.

If you want something more overstable you will probably have to go to a freaky overstable driver like the OOP Xtreme or the XXX.
Perfect suggestions. I don't think the Pain or Vector are even close. I think of them as a slightly more overstable Buzzz. Good mids in mild winds. Go with the Zone.

jokerI? but that is pretty much in line with a esp zone. Also like others stated about a hornet, but I would suggest looking for a pink one in particular in z or esp. For whatever reason pink discraft is always more over stable than the rest of the colors.

the zone is just as overstable if not more so than the drone. the Pain is nothing like the drone. a brand new z wasp is pretty overstable. but the Viper is so overstable. i would say that before a gator. so my reccomendation would be a zone.

I have a Champ Viper, Z xtreme, and a champ gator for sale.

My zone doesn't fly as overstable as any of my drones (Z, ESP, or D). It's close, but it holds the line further before fading out. This is most apparent in a headwind where the Zone will generally hold a drive and land flat(ter) for me whereas a drone will still fade out at the end.

Don't get me wrong. It's a great disc, and I'm using it more than my Drones now, but it just isn't quite as beefy as my Drones.

Imo, (though quite possibly fact), the zone is not as overstable as a drone.

Im having a hard time imagining what the problem with the drone is.
The only "complaints" of the drone are usually about it being an overstable mid, and thus lacking versitility, or of it being too overstable.
It usually ranks high in the feel catagory.

I would even go as far as to suggest an esp flx drone. If all you have tried it in is pro d then I dont think you have experienced all that mold has to offer.

This. It is quite possible that the op just didn't like the pro-d version. It's beefy, but nothing like the flx version.

ESP Zone gets my vote. they're just fun to throw. fh rollers go for a mile, great fh and bh. i haven't really thrown drones tho, not enough to have an opinion.

zone=fun. and nothing beats fun

Esp Zone. I don't carry an overstable mid in my bag because I know that the zone does work it acts like an overstable mid. Best disc in the market IMO.

I have always like a Reaper for a extremely overstable mid and it also makes a good flick mid.

I like the FLX Drone too. I find it to be a good overhead roller for mid distances as well.
