Lol I remember I beat that guy at the Channahon Classic last year too.. Lol he wasn't that good.. Highland can just really screw you lol

I think its safe to say there were plenty of baggers at the tourney... Unfortunately.

The guy that beat me on Sunday in novice Told me he's played a ton of tourneys and won a couple with first place but since he never registered with the pdga and has no rating.... He didn't consider that sandbagging.

I dunno if he was right or not? And honestly I don't Care much... There's usually always someone out there better.

Well, he's a member now, so this is probably his last novice tourney. He averaged 945 golf on Sunday so that will put him in advanced with the next update (assuming he doesn't play another tourney and tank it).

That's one of the many reasons to keep practicing and moving up ;) You're always going to find players in lower divisions that are new-ish to the game and are rapidly improving, so they're just "moving through" the divisions. My buddy Doug only played one rec event, won it, then played 3 intermediate events before his rating made him play advanced, and he's won many advanced tourneys since. For that first year though he was technically "bagging" the rec and intermediate divisions, but he didn't know it. He didn't think his game was there. That might be the case with this Lee guy as well.

You posted some good rounds though, Mark. I was wondering if that was you or not. Solid shooting.

Isn't the cutoff for intermediate/advanced 935?.....Thats what it was last year. Did they change it?

cutoff from novice to rec is 850....rec to intermediate 900........935......for intermediate to advanced.....

Hey notroman sorry for calling you out I was just curious where you got that 19pts above the cutoff from. he was 951 right.......not 955......or did I miss something........(if so please disregard)

Ask mashnut, he'll let you know my addition and subtraction needs work. I meant 16 points ;)

This is why I let my phone keep my score for me during tournaments.

^^you shouldn't have been allowed to do that. Patrick should have caught that. Unless there is some new stipulation that I am missing........Its not the end of the world, but I would pretty much be certain you won't be able to do that again.........move up

^^I was quoting rookie.......you've been rated over novice since last year.

Looked up that Lee guy.....not current, not sure if he's been rated that high since the last cutoff or not.

I can understand people not knowing the cutoffs and playing down (on accident even though the td "should" catch it)

But if you "know" you shouldn't be playing a certain division then you really shouldn't play it. It kind of makes you a lot like those Cuban little leaguers that lie about their age so they can play little league still.

I'm not calling you out rookie cuz I don't think you knew cuz you are asking, but the divisions (aren't perfect)........but the lines have to be drawn somewhere.

Sounds like this TD just didn't bother checking ratings for people. Probably hard to do with all the walk-up registrations he had. He was probably relying on people being honest about what division they should be playing in when they were signing up.

^^I think you're probably right. I don't think Patrick would do it on purpose

Rookie you bagger!!!:p That explains all those sick amazing jump putts you were pulling outta nowhere. Wish I had some of those on video.
