[Innova] For the love of the Bird! ..Teebird that is!

lmao

I just did a bunch of fieldsies with FW, took out 12 of 'em. I guess I'll post it to the 'hey this FW rocks [can't remember thread title, that's the gist]'. I'm doing science to see wot I think about FW vs mid vs non-FW drivers.

I've noticed that there has been a lot of restocks on various Halo molds recently & was curious if anyone knows or feels like they may restock on the Halo Teebird3? I'm not sure how "limited" this run is.

I'm a longtime Teebird thrower, but have spent most of this year experimenting with other molds (mainly cause I lost my OG Teebird after so many years) & have come full circle to the trusty Teebird & Teebird3... So in an effort to simplify my bag, I want to bag different plastics of the same mold & of course, that Halo Star plastic looks amazing.

I love my DX Teebird....it goes pretty much straight for me and works both backhand and forehand. In the past, I thought it was a good disc to try but probably wouldn't stay in my bag. Now the moment I lose one, I buy another. I've tried Champion and Star plastics and they just don't work as well as the DX.....but, dang, Halo plastic...I want to try that out. I know I loved the Halo Sidewinder I had and it was way better than the DX, Champion, Star Sidewinder I have. But then I lost it. :(

It doesn't turn

Also, you beat a champion in for three seasons and it still doesn't turn, but it doesn't fade either

Then you lose that perfect disc and cry

My Champ is more neutral than my Star, which is more overstable. The Champ is the most consistent disc I have.

I was beating in one of my color glow 2021 Barela TB3s over the past 5 months...then I went and left it behind a couple days ago.

Welp, time to beat in the next one in line. My quest to a perfectly neutral Teebird is taking longer than expected.

I threw my new Champ Teebird a couple of times today at Beaver and the first throw (uphill blind RHBH hyzer) bounced off the top of the basket.

The second throw (RHFH into a sloped pin, the slope goes uphill from left to right) kinda made me fall in love a little bit. Gotta figure out what I'm doing with my bag, but really think this disc will help improve scores.

Almost got an ace with my DX Teebird. It would have been my first ace. In the Flagstaff (AZ) Treebash tournament, first round, hole 4, I bounced a forehand off the top of the basket. Closest I've ever come to an ace.

Well, if those are the rules then I've probably almost got an ace with most of the discs in my bag.

Seriously, nice shot. I'm just over four years in and haven't hit an ace yet. Hit every part of the basket at some point but nothing sticks.

the first four years of playing I had an ace every year. then I had a 2 1/2 year drought. makes me realize how lucky some aces are.......

I have a problem...lol. Played another 36 at my local after the 42 at Beaver.

About the Teebird...still think this is a rad disc, but what shocked me was how it flew in headwinds vs my Firebird. I was starting to think that my Teebird was a Firebird..but no way.

If anything, I'm more stoked about the disc...I didn't want that much overlap.

Specifics: hole 4 of local course is a 230' barely uphill wide open shot where the issues are terrain (big right to left slope going down) and often winds (micro-climate on the course creates oppressive headwind).

This hole is essentially an auto-birdie with a Firebird FH. Today threw FB jr., my Champ Teebird (FH). Big headwind.

Was surprised...even though it ended up fighting back through the wind, at first it went a little ass-up and gave up some ground to the left--flipped a touch and rode downhill--but it did fight back and end up on the edge of C1.

So what do we think--Champ Teebird a good disc for FH shots where you need Firebird/Destroyer-like overstability? Or more of a touch disc that you don't want to expose to the most brutal of elements on a FH?

I don't use it for shots that I need a really OS flight for. It's more for touchy turnovers and pitchouts were I don't want it to fade.

I'm running a Star at 168g and a Champ at 175g. They are distinct. I love throwing both. My scores are better from moving to this disc. I'm using it up to about 400' (downhill tailwind) or about 350' (generic). That's about as far as I can throw.

I'm getting intuitive results. Really bonding with this disc. Looking to throw it as much as possible, the lines are either flattish, mild hyzer, or big hyzer.

Haven't done as much FH work with it, but the one shot I threw at Beaver with the Champ was a ~270' foresty sideways-sloped flex line that made me a believer. You had to be there.

My sig is where I am right now. I know I'm sleeping around with discs a little bit, but I'm also in the middle of my obsession--I play 1-2 rounds a day and do fieldwork every day. Feel like I can evaluate a good disc, at least a good disc for me.

I picked up a few Barela T3's and I just love this plastic. Color Glow Champion is the best plastic Innova makes. It's to bad they only make it for certain discs/specialty tour series runs.

Solid flight with the Barela T3's as well. I was surprised at how far I threw it on one hole (went 30 long). About 360 rip, I'm usually topping out at 400 on a open field with a high speed disc. I'm certainly not a certified ripper but 360 with a Bird is good for me.
