Where you coming to in CA?

I'm in Martinez, CA right now. Played Aquatic Park and Golden Gate today. Tomorrow I'm looking at Delaveaga, Black Mouse, Parque de la raza and Hellyer.

Any first impressions on CA and the courses you have played? I have played over 700 courses in 30 states . . . but none west of MN, IA, KS, OK, TX . . . looking forward to some winter trips out west.

I am envious of you, sir. Wish I had that many. :)

California courses are pretty fun, much more open than I'm used to though. A lot less underbrush than there is in WA where everything grows like crazy, kind of wierd seeing brown everywhere instead of green. They seem a little overrated from the reviews here I think. I've played Aquatic, Golden Gate, Delaveaga, Black Mouse(reminds me of my home course, tight woods and hills), Parque de la raza, Hellyer and Stafford Lake. All solid aside from Aquatic which is the most dangerous course I've ever played lol!

Fuel up the vehicle and hit the road!

Well, obviously you're starting with excellent courses in the Charlotte area. But the area in the mountains around Boone, NC oughtta be your first field trip. Ashe County, Blackjack, and whatever else you find up there.

Upstate S.C. (Greenville/Spartanburg) has a cluster of nice courses, perhaps not for your Top-10 list but an easy day trip away.

If you're traveling between Charlotte & Columbia regularly, take a backroads detour and visit us at Stoney Hill. Preferably, when it's not summer. It might make your list.

This list will undoubtedly be changing after hitting Flip/Mason County later this month.

1. Rollin' Ridge
2. Borderland State Park
3. Winter Park
4. Highbridge Granite
5. Highbridge Blueberry
6. O'Hauser Park
7. Sandy Point
8. Brown Deer
9. Silver Creek
10. Standing Rock

Highbridge Gold is an incomplete, as I only got to play about half of it before being scared off by a bear.
