[Innova] Innova StarLite

Any idea on a release date? I don't really see a need for this at my skill level but a beginner can really use an understable light disc

I think this is incorrect. There is no such thing as 'star light', only starlite. Starlite is the process they used to stabilize the lighter star plastic discs, which resulted in freakishly stable discs, which they have now decided to release as a normal run i guess. Have to read through the history of the PDGA board to find some of this: http://www.pdga.com/discussion/showpost.php?p=1467049&postcount=12722

Yu huh. Took my about 3 seconds with my POS PC.

Daves words;
No, we haven't done Starlight Destroyers yet.

This is from 2009, when this started.

They already make Star in 150 class. This seems so unnecessary.
I thought the point of the blizzard was to make wide rim discs in lighter weights and in durable plastic.

Wha' happen?

^^This. I guess Innova wants to sell these to those that think blizzard is "magic" plastic. And put me down for another  on the stamp.

Good to know we all agree on the stamp. Good to know that Innova didn't think to ask any actual disc golfers what they thought about it. I'd throw something that ugly if it offered something that I needed or wanted though. So if Lat 64 releases a River with a similar stamp on it, I'll still buy it.

This is just business. That stamp and starlite in general isn't geared toward us,the disc golf nerds here on DGCR. It's just like Ford producing 5 different models of the focus. If somebody is going to buy why not produce and sell it

I just read on Dave Dunipace's thread that they will likely make Blizzard Beasts sometime later this year. Enjoy!

Thanks for that info! I picked up a 148 dx beast a few weeks ago but I have never been a fan of dx. It is still in my bag because it is a pretty color and I like to throw it far. Don't use it in rounds too often, but my 167 champ beast is my goto BH driver. .. CAN'T WAIT!

This and the MVP Volt thread seriously make me want to go bash this forum on DGR for a couple of hours.

If it wasn't for repeat threads we wouldn't have anything to take about on here.

Saying that the Volt thread has gotten out of control.

i think we can all agree that the bold new graphics will ensure the starlite roadrunner gets attention on store shelves and that the feedback you are all providing is being greatly appreciated.

I didn't see this coming for some reason. Not sure if they'll get the return they are with the Blizzard plastic though, as they're sort of duplicating the benefits of a product they already sell.

Going with the Roadrunner as the first release is a strange selection too.

Please tell me the Groove will be available in Starlite.

I have a bunch of these starlite bosses and destroyers, its not what you guys are thinking, it wont be anything like blizzard champ. starlite discs are meathooks and im betting no matter what disc gets the starlite treatment it will be a meathook as well, even the roadrunner

This would make sense as to why they are testing it with a roadrunner. At first I couldn't understand why such an understable disc would be needed in a weight this light but if they become more stable when made this way it makes sence they would use something understable.

given that the ad (or whatever it is) says it is a process similar to Blizzard I've got money that says these are not like the "starlite" stabilized destroyers/bosses that we know of

such discs are some of the most overstable versions of those molds out there

which begs the question why would you require a stabilized version of a Roadrunner in a lighter weight?

they are already available down to 160 (maybe less, I didn't search too far) in star plastic

seeing as this is a speculation thread I'll guess we are looking at bubbly light weight star discs
down to the 130s

I can think of a few grandmasters who would like a 130gm RR or Valk
