I just got my first SE ESP Comet in a trade, so, naturally: there's a blizzard. :\
I don't know if I'll ever bag Comets, but I've convinced my buddy to do Comet+putter rounds with me, where we're required to throw the Comet off the tee. I need to fix my 'rounding' issues on hyzer drives (90% of my drives) and he needs to stop a wrist roll. The first round is going to be hi-larious.

i'll gladly answer, i didnt enjoy the rules they had set up this year. I felt like i was just hanging out with my friends playing a practice round, and if you screwed up you would say hang on guys i need another shot at this one before we go! Its just not the type of golf i like playing. If its like that next year i will probably not play or try to qualify.
Everyday i went and played a round of golf somewhere in town after my rounds. Usually i am so worn out after a round there i go home and space out for a while before i can even think of doing anything

I think I'll take something from your putting style, and not pour over each putt too much. It seems like the longer I think about a putt, the less chance it has of hitting chains.

MJ how do you like the new long #1 at bradford? I got to ask you quickly after you had first seen the hole but never got to after the Open when you had played it a little more.

This is true for me. I have a busy brain, so the longer I take in my stance, the crappier the result. It's counter-intuitive, but if I 'rush' it, I often do better.

This is probably a better question for the CDGC forum, but since we have you as a captive audience...
I played last Sunday there, and it seems like it's still set up mostly in the World's layout. Any idea if/when it's going to go back to the full-on Nest/Web layout?

The reason I don't throw the comet:
"Its a great disc cause it shows the flaws in your throw really well"
i like it alot, its a good add to the long course there

How do you and Chris Max throw so far with a fan grip? Do you have more pressure on the index or pinky? I can't seem to translate any power to the disc with a fan grip.:\
kinda i am. i am not sure we have a few things to do. Hopefully we can get them in after the holidays sometime, i'll ask and see what i can find out
the thing is, is that its not the pressure in my grip its how i let my wrist break and my hand and fingers tranfer the power and spin to the disc. A big key is to not lock the disc against the palm of your hand when you grip it, it should stay out in the fingers with it just touching the hand where your index and middle finger meet the hand
thats why its a great practice tool!!!!
the pressure in the grip is a different topic, but you press up with the index and down with the thumb, thumb is pressing in between the index and middle finger in that space. and you press back with the pinky. the middle and ring fingers just control the flight plate, not a lot of pressure on them at all

No worries, I'll check on CDGC's forum. I'm sure somebody there has an idea what the plans are.
It's still about the best as it's set up now, but there's no butt kicking like the full web layout, IMO. I find it harder than Nevin, though at my skill level I should probably never set foot on either of the "Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse:" Nevin, Renny, Elong (Angry Beev,) Web.

Why don't you throw forehands more often? You have a ~400ft forehand on a rope, but don't seem to use it as much as Ricky and other top pros do. If you have a high enough ceiling, I assume you prefer and can control the tail end of your backhand better.

i have not thrown it yet. i am planning on trying it soon, but i've been sidetracked by a hip injury so i havent been throwing much lately
