I am a beginner and I am wondering which midrange disc is best. I am thinking about purchasing the Mako3 but i want to see what the more experienced players think.

170 dx or kc pro roc. Actually feel them up in person to see which you like best. It will become a valuable disc in your bag

Why does it just have to be Innova? Get a buzzz. The play it again sports in north raleigh has a bunch of them.

If you must stick with Innova, I'd say Shark, but can't argue with Roc suggestions.
If you aren't specific to Innova... Buzzzes are great for all.

roc, and a stingray or cobra... Then be prepared for their flights to evolve and become less stable as you throw them and hit trees, rocks, or just the ground...

The first disc I ever threw was a seasoned DX Roc. There's a reason so many players love that disc.

I think Coyotes are perfect for beginners because they are understable enough to control but not super understable that they become useless after heavy play. Mako is similar in being pretty neutral and helpful to learn with.

Prodigy M4. Not everything has to be Innova or Discraft.

The Prodigy M4 is a GREAT midrange disc. Especially for someone starting out.

I used to swear by Rocs until I found this disc.

I think the shark is a great beginner midrange. It's very point and shoot. Same with the coyote. Rocs are great, but I think can have a frustrating amount of fade for a beginner when fresh

If it has to be Innova, a Shark is a great first workhorse mid.

But if you want a mid that is a great learning tool, I'd say Discraft Comet. And if you want just an awesome workhorse mid, I would say Vibram Ibex.

If innova, a Shark or Stingray would be good.

But I say get a Comet or a Fuse. Comet is pretty much THE go to answer for newer players.

From Innova, definitely can't go wrong with the stingray.

But an X Comet from Discraft is a thing of beauty. Affordable and X plastic is fairly durable with great grip.

^How do you pick a Cro and a Meteor when they have entirely different flights?

>Insert favorite mold here<

Definitely a shark. Roc's have a somewhat unusual lip that can be uncomfortable for people just starting out (at least for me it was). Rocs are also much less forgiving than a shark is

Why Innova? Like someone said: We're in the golden age of midranges.

Go out to a course and camp on the first hole. As people walk up, tell them you're just beginning and would like their suggestions for a first disc. They'll probably let you throw a few of theirs, and help you get some of the basics of throwing.
