2014 Am Worlds...Minneapolis

ive always thought that disc golfers should learn to throw lhbh and rhbh just like skateboarders ride regular and switch. forehand would be like pushing mongo...

:hfive: wish it was that easy... I snowboard regs and goofy but cant throw lefty to save my life.

How dare that 940 rated player not go pro? He has no business holding onto his amateur status and playing Worlds.

I played my 3rd and 4th rounds with Louis at the Minnesota Majestic. He seemed like a good dude.
I got him by a stroke at Kaposia, and he destroyed me at Blue Ribbon when I completely fell apart. I am 940 rated, after two tournaments this year and being back in the game for a year now after a long layoff.

Point is, he's not bagging. He's a good player, but like a lot of us in advanced, we lack the consistency that higher level open players have.
Also, you can't bag advanced. :)

Edit: I realize you were being sarcastic. Yours was just the last quote about it so I quoted it. This wasn't a direct reply at you, but just "in general" about the bagging comments.

so up the hill in the woods to the left, then dogleg right? because that would be incredibly stupid.
out of all the Kaposia holes to make 'harder'... i would never think that one needed it.

good lord.

Agreed. I three'd that uphill hole during the Majestic and knew I was gaining a stroke or more on a huge percentage of the field. (Partly due to the horrendous weather.)

they should have added a mando left of the big tree up top, then a double mando on the trees later like it was at the majestic 2 years ago. just so everyone takes 8's.

Funny thing is I've played with more of the out of town players than MN players. I never play leagues here cuz 3 kids, but on the road it's no problem. I'll have to get out to some of the local stuff soon.

I was at The Valley course for the 2:30 round and I could not believe the quality and processionalism of the players I came in contact with. I was there taking photos and I hope to be able to post some of them on here. Every players I met was friendly and courteous. It was a great time and everyone out there was having an enjoyable time.
I had a BLAST!!!

I've been having so much fun out fixing up courses (how often do you really get to actually put a basket in the ground yourself?), spotting, delivering daily prize discs, etc, I'm thinking about going to Kalamazoo just to volunteer. I haven't even had time to check in here for a while.

You can see all the maps here http://2014amworlds.com/courses/. The kaposia file is huge, so here's a jpeg. Locals can tell what "regular" holes were used by the hole names.

He was just an example after someone previously said advanced players have been not taking cash in recent events and off the top of my head he won one. Only difference between most advanced and pros is consistency and mentally thinking they belong.

Gotcha. Kind of thought you were singling him out so that's my fault.
You're certainly correct about the rest, although I could use a little more distance and a better forehand. :)

Certain people should have kept their nose out of worlds. There is a large group of very unhappy customers up around here and all of it points back at two people. One who made "necessary" unnecessary changes and another who has never ran a well attended or liked event. It is really sad to see Mn being represented by these two jokers. I hope the majority of people are enjoying themselves and taking something positive away from worlds. The Mn disc golf scene is way different than what is being repped at worlds though imo.
